Melee's nameboxes had four letters per name.  We could assume differently here, but all the other text is in English too, which makes me hopeful.


This makes me think they are shooting for a (near-)simultaneous release.  Everything is localized.  That's usually a sign of near-gold status.

Fucking ace. They're really pulling out some cleaver new movesets. Wario plays nothing like any of the previous characters so far. This makes me excited to see what comes out of other new characters

Today's update brings about the idea of Assist Trophies, which apparently serve the purpose of satiating people who wanted to see their favorite characters (who weren't quite brawler material) in the game, like Samurai Goro, for instance.

I'd also like to note that since items are able to be turned off, and assist trophies and Smash Balls are items, basically everything new in the trailer is able to be turned off for tournament play.  An amusing, but not very important, read nonetheless.

haha yea this was pretty much my take on it. theyre still pokeballs but with people from the video game universe instead of a bearachu or something.

I instantly though "an alternative for the pokeball" as well.

Honestly, I've been wanting Goro since Melee, so I was pretty disappointed by this. :/
I think he could have made just as good a character as the majority of the cast, but that's just me.

I guess I can still hope for Black Shadow...

Bowser is the new update.
Doesn't tell us all that much, but he IS pretty big.

Woohoo, at least Bowser still looks badass. He is so much fun to play in Melee, even though it is pretty much impossible to win with him. Whenever he lands a hit, it is just so satisfying.

This game is just ..building up to be incredible.

Agreed, Esh, I'm thinking about getting a Wii with this being one of the main reasons! It looks very nice!

Yeah online play will be alright I guess. But nothing will ever beat the fun of playing Smash Bros with 3 other people in person, instead of random 13 year olds from TEH INTARWEB.
