Is Luigi a clone of Mario?

Not at all. I don't remember what his moves were like in the original, but in Melee, he's completely different.

Sonic update tomorrow, Sarhan

Damn straight! Love your sig by the way.

In 64, most of Luigi's attacks were different (though some were only slightly different). Anyone think Waluigi will be added, or Boo? :D

Even in the original, he jumped higher and was slower.

Thanks! Only I would prefer a Mega Man update moreso than a Sonic update!  :gwa:

Everyone should equip this sig so that they'll actually add these two. Strength in numbers!

Animal Crossing Playable Character

Someone at Smash world figured out that each of the playables has an icon next to their title on the character pages.
Each of the icons has this url: http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/images/icon/world_b_XX.gif
Replace the XX with a two digit number, between 01 and 18, and each of the numbers represents a franchise, one of these being Animal Crossing. That's why a lot of people agree that an AC character is probably included.

Also, here's a link to a topic in SMash World forums, where they have a translated Japanese interview with the AC creator, where he confesses to an AC character in the game, and his descriptions make it sound a lot like the protagonist from said games.

Edit: God, I am way too far into this.

An Animal Crossing character would be the LAMEST character in all of SSB.  What moves would he do?  Be your bitch?  Move objects to kill cockroaches?

Well, after seeing that last update, I'm pretty disappointed.  PT had a lot of potential, but his smash is exactly what I would've expected.

I do like, however, that they added that little "it's super effective!" in there.

Didn't they prove that the interview was a fake? I remember reading that somewhere on smash boards.

Regardless, I'll post the actual interview here for the lazy people:

Also, if anyone can read Japanese, check this out and see if it matches the quote posted above:

To answer your question, here's a quote from the interview:

Quote
The Animal Crossing character is very much like the one in the games. You know, he will use his axe, fishing rod, bug catching net, and everything else from the games.

About tonight's update, Pokemon Trainer's Final Smash:

This is pretty much exactly what I thought would happen. It looks like a pretty cool FS and the addition of the "it's super effective" is a nice touch and it brings back memories. I'm sad though, because seeing the smaller version of that third screenshot made Meta Knight look like Sonic. I need help guys...I'm starting to lose my mind.

Interesting side note...while I was typing this a random porn add popped up. Just felt like sharing.

EDIT: I know I said I'd drop the whole Mr. Resetti changing the camera zoom thing, but I just noticed something. See the third and fourth screenshots of PT's FS? Notice how the dialogue box stays the same size even though the third screenshot is zoomed out further? Gives my theory about auto adjusting text boxes some leverage, since final smashes aren't cinematic events themselves and don't directly influence how the camera acts.

Anyways, that is all. I'm done now. Please don't flame me. I hate fire.

I also hate doing homework at 2:30 AM, but I guess I'll go do that now. Stupid accounting.

Regardless, the icon thing is still there, which is convincing enough for me, since the other games with trophies and items don't have their own icons.

Oh yeah, I believe that as well. That's exactly why I'm 99% sure that Captain Falcon and Ness are going to be back. I was just talking about the interview.

With all the attention AC has been getting, I'm sure we'll be seeing a character.

I agree, PT would've been one of the best characters in the game if he had summoned a fourth pokemon for his final smash. I had Aerodactyl stuck in mind for some reason, but I was secretly praying for Dragonite, Rayquayza or something.

I wonder if Squirtle and Charizard miss 30% of the time with their final smash? And if Ivysaur has to sit there charging energy before he can use his.

Seriously man they should have at least chosen the best moves in the type for the final smash (but of source Surf etc are already used in normal attacks).

The three tutor moves would be cool though- Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, Frenzy Plant.

The more I think about this game the more I am blown away by the sheer SCOPE of this game. Good god, this game will probably have better replay value than Halo 3. There's just so much to it and so much to do. I was addicted to Melee on and off from launch up until this year.

PT's final smash isn't fantastic... it would have been better (like Eric mentioned) if he would throw a master ball and out pops Rayquaza! Regardless, it doesn't look terrible so.

Of course it will. You say that as if SSBM didn't have better replay value than the other Halos.

Uh, they did. Back in Red/Blue, Hydro/Fire Blast/Solarbeam were kind of the SIGNATURE MOVES of the three types, so they were well chosen imo. Kind of how HYPER BEAM was the notype (or was it dragon?) signature move, etc.

Um that's not true! The best moves for the types are flamethrower or surf. For grass the best move is actually like LEECH SEED but it's not a direct attack though so. The horrible accuracy of the HIGH POWER moves like hydro pump and fire blast aren't worth the gains in power if you can have a consistent attack that's still pretty strong even if it's not hyperpowerful. And hyper beam sucks it gives opponents a free turn.

I didn't say they really were the literally most powerful, but you aren't arguing they are the signature/most known moves of that era, right?

Like, everyone had them, and they were used in the anime every other episode, etc.
