uh yeah i will be maining as Sonic for sure. and yeah i dont think shadow will be in it as a separate character, but i wouldnt be surprised if he was an alternate costume for sonic, in the same way that i think ness will be a costume for lucas. and i think they would be called "shadow" and "ness" just because thats what they're known as.

I wasn't meh about Sonic at all. I loved SA and SA2, and the music for those games was mostly alright too! So the Live and Learn song doesn't bug me as I actually really liked it back in the day.

Wow after seeing the Sonic video he actually looks pretty sweet.

I'm not like a HUGE SONIC FAN or anything but he looks pretty solid. Also what would being Super/Gold Sonic do, besides make him faster/do more damage?

In all honesty, he doesn't look too bad and his moveset looks cool. Plus, I am looking forward to a Super Sonic I can actually initiate, instead of one that comes by due to story progression (they would be fucking stupid to not have that as a final smash).

The delay just left a sour taste in my mouth. I was really looking forward to playing this over Christmas break since I'm not going to be able to go home to my family.

His moves actually do look pretty slick.

The only problem is that when Brawl comes out there's going to be 1000 you tube 'Sonic VS Mario' videos with a terrible Green Day song in the background.

Haha, wow. I'm all tingly. I'm not exactly ANTI-SONIC but I hoped he wouldn't be in Brawl... I'm not a huge fan of his character or really any of his games. Though, I like that music a lot, and his game play seemed actually really good and interesting. That video of Sonic doing imo pretty cool moves, along with the HUGE video of just plain goddamn fucking awesomefuckfuckfuck game play... Wow.

They're definitely trying to make up for the delay, though. I'm upset that I can't play 24/7 over the winter break, or anything, but... Jesus Christ. Those two videos... Fuck, man. Also 2 pages over one update holy shit!

Also classic Megaman would be okay. I like Megaman but I can't see him being that different from say Samus or anything. Although imagining him in Brawl is cool... Also Bomberman is a cool idea.

EDIT: yeah so on the icon pages whats #16 (the one with the leaf)

I expect it'll pretty much be like Yoshi's but without the projectiles. In the games Super Sonic could just run REALLY REALLY FAST and not take any damage from anything (except crush and screen edge) and can apparently fly (although he was Hyper Sonic when he flew in S3+K, and he was in space when he flew as SS in SA2, but yeah I assume he'll be able to fly). He could also fly as SS in the official UK comics and and his TOP SPEED sprite in the games was a kind of hovering flight, he just didn't move his legs at all. So yeah flying isn't too unlikely an event.

So yeah, flying around and pummeling guys into oblivion seems like a pretty good bet.

Now that'd be awesome.

Sonic looks pretty swell. He doesn't look out of place which is surprising, even though snake looks out of place in my opinion. He looks the most badass though.

If Mr. Game and Watch is returning. One of the missing two could be his.

As for the last one, there isn't another possible veteran fighter who would need a new series symbol. So that means there must be yet another series.

EDIT:
To summarize, you can expect:

Captain Falcon
An animal crossing character
Maybe game and watch
Another new fighter not from a new series.

Yeah, I didn't figure it out. It's from Smashboards. Animal Crossing character is guaranteed since they have the icon for it already.

EDIT: No character yet, but only characters have icons that represent their series. That icon was used for the AC stage as well. Every other game that doesn't have a character but has a stage/item in Brawl has that standard smash icon (01 on that website).

Yeah, Sonic just doesn't do anything for me. The new gameplay videos were much more exciting than the new character announcement. I'm glad others seem to be enjoying the news though!

They have more than a month and a half now. It doesn't come out until January 24th in Japan, so were probably not going to see it before then, unless we get lucky and Nintendo decides to sell it before Christmas.

Check out Smashville or Mr. Resetti to see the Animal Crossing logo. A specific logo for Animal Crossing may indicate there will be a playable Animal Crossing character as someone on this board already deduced.

I can't get over how great his moves look. His spin dash isn't slow, clunky, and unpredictable like Yoshi's egg or Jiggylpuff's roll. See how he spin dashes into Mario, then spin dashes him AGAIN in the air?
