Why the fucking shit would you want sonic in a fucking smash brothers game. This fucks up fox's agility and speed, new fastest character. The fuckin hedgehod was in 2 games on the god damned gamecube.

Same to you, welcome to GW and all but make more substantial posts (or at least NOT FUCKING FUCK SWEAR FUCKING SWEARING EVERY FUCK FUCKING FUCK WORD).

I bet his moveset will either vamoose or change for the time he is Super.
..ya, I'm pretty sure all of the characters change when in final smash mode. Like I said, Sonic's controls will more than likely contain flying and hitting things really hard.

I have a theory that people who are against or indifferent towards this Sonic news are under 20 years old.  But for old timers like me, we have been waiting for something like this since 1991. (don't bring us down)

What special moves could Sonic have besides the Spin Dash and turning Super Sonic, perhaps some Down+B could be the shield from the original games? It would be cool if Sonic could collect rings or something, and once he reached 50 he could go Super Sonic.  :naughty:

You've been waiting for Sonic to appear in Ssb since '91? :gwa: I liked Sonic back when he first came out, but after all the recent games, not so much. I especially don't like his voice and "attitude".

No, I said "something like this".  Actually, I'm probably not familiar enough with his new games or I might feel the same way as you.  I just remember the old days.

Ugh, don't start this age disparity argument.  Sonic has been in too many bad and uncontrollable titles and has come too far from his roots for him to be a respectable game icon anymore.  The Rush titles are two gold watches in a sea of shit, and they need to come out with a phenomenal 3D title to get that respect back.  If anything, I'd think people under 20 would be ecstatic because they haven't played the classics, and this type of Sonic gameplay is something they're accustomed to (e.g. they would likely complain that the old Sonic series doesn't 'contain enough variety.')

Oh, is someone angry that their character isn't the fastest anymore? Well gee Nintendo, why would you do this to IceManual?

Fox sucks anyways. And Snake was in 1 game on the gamecube and he's in smash. G&W and ICs weren't in any, I believe. And Marth. And Roy. And Sheik. And Ness. And Dr. Mario. Your logic fails.

I don't see how some people think Sonic doesn't fit in but Snake does. That just blows my mind. A cartoony character doesn't fit in with a cartoony game, but a serious, realistic character does?

I hope there's no AC character, personally...

Also IceManual, you're wrong. Fox was never the fastest character.

EDIT: Sarhan actually Fox is very good, thanks!

EDITEDIT: Sonic's moveset is cool, it seems he can spin or whatever in midair, as seen in the Adventure Mode tunnel thing. Cool.  :fogetcool:

I am under 20 years old but as I said earlier in this topic, I actually grew up with Sonic, watched the Sonic cartoons, read Sonic comics and all that. I don't think I'm old timer but if I was over 20 hell yeah I would be one, but right now I am a hardcore guy (using Jester's definition of hardcore of course).

I liked Sonic back when he first came out, but after all the recent games, not so much. I especially don't like his voice and "attitude".

I liked the SA games, the GBA games and the Rush ones. Heroes was meh, Shadow was garbage and Sonic 2006 (the one released for PS3 and 360) was total shit. Secret Rings is pretty good IMO. His voice, I think, is actually what fits his character and attitude. And speaking of attitude, he always had one from way back in '91, he just didn't have a voice to accompany it. Hence that idle animation of his where he grows impatient and looks at the player and then telling them to go forward by pointing his fingers.

Also idk man but there are still a lot of stages, tracks, items, Assists and Pokemons to cover, maybe even characters. I guess they delayed the game for that reason, to show us the rest of the stuff, but I think they are also fine tuning aspects of it. You never know.

On the context of AC characters, in that link I posted (I sure talk about that link a lot) Sakurai himself mentioned that he wouldn't find it interesting and fitting to see AC characters fighting (actually he said Tom Nook but I guess he doesn't like the idea of other AC characters fighting as well).

His voice is the exact same from the old 90s cartoon, all nasally and whiney. His attitude was great in the beginning, but like Pasty said, he's gone too far from his roots.

Fun Fact: Jaleel White did the voice for Sonic in the old cartoon. Of course, we all remember him as Urkel, from Family Matters.

Now how would you feel about Urkel replacing Sonic in Ssbb, because that it how I see Sonic now-a-days.  :naughty:

I guess you're right. But I still like his voice!

Also Jaleel White did the voice for Sonic in all three Sonic cartoons. That means the first one, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, the other one which was based off of the comic and Sonic Underground. In Underground, he did the voice of all three hedgehogs, Sonic and his "siblings".

P.S: Underground sucks.

Yeah, I never played any of those 3D games.  I don't think I've played a Sonic game since Sonic 2 or 3.  So my ignorance of Sonic's tarnished reputation as an icon allows me to appreciate this update as if he still was a gaming icon.

I still appreciate him...

In other words, I just logged in to say that I noticed something. Notice how Sonic grabs an item and goes YAHOO or something in the Shadow Moses Island stage and crashes into the wall? That looks awfully like a Warp Star from Kirby if I'm not mistaken. If so then YES!

Yeah, that was definitely a warp star.  And, as far as Sonic's reputation goes, I pretty much just ignnore the new stuff and remember the glory days.  Sonic Adventure seemed like an okay game, but after that...

Wrong bro (I'm 20+) and the Sonic games were all pretty fun (if you are a masochist).

Only if Sonic's taunt involves chili dogs, might he be tolerable. Otherwise he is just going to end up my personal bitch.  :fogetguns:

With that, I guess I really don't have anything else to say on the matter! So how about those gameplay videos, eh?

I like the part where Peach dances in that gameplay video, it's cute... >_>

Yay Sonic!

I haven't actually played any Sonic games outside of the Sega Genesis back in the days of my youth, so Sonic has never been tainted to me with all these garbage games he's in apparently.

Brawl demo character select screen shown (for E for All):

Quote
While this is definitely not the final character select screen, at least we probably know now who is playable for the demo next week!

Translation of article: Basically, this guy says he thinks Brawl feels very similar to Melee. You can pick up one of the veterans and be able to play them immediately. He also says that the smash ball comes out just like a normal item comes out, and that for the wiimote + nunchuck setup, the jump button is the up key on the D pad (thank god for customizable controls).

It seems hard for me to recognize the character that P1 chose. Who is he?
