So I just saw Shoot 'Em Up in the cinema. I don't think I would have been half as entertained if I watched it at home!

I like seeing movies at home because the concession stand prices are crazy!  And I like to eat while watching movies/TV.

As for movies that I would've like to seen on the big screen, I don't know offhand.  I usually only want to watch action blockbusters at the cinema.  Everything else (comedies, dramas, etc...) don't need the big screen.

Example:  Star Wars Ep. 3 sucks balls, but it was awesome watching it at the cinemas (would've been even better if there were fewing glowing lightsabers in the crowd).

i only goto theatres to see movies like 300, or die hard 4. anything else i can just wait for the dvd. not worth the exorbant ticket price, the uncomfortable seating, waiting for the time THEY want to play the movie, not being able to pause it, and being forced to see advertisements.

Yeah that was definitely a movie made for the big screen.  It was so rediculous and off the top.

City of Lost Children would've had a nicer efect at the theatres.

I missed seeing Grindhouse =(

I would've liked to seen Night of the Living Dead when it first came out, I bet it would've been scary as hell.

I wish every movie would come out on DVD straight away. My local cinema is a shit pit. Okay, so the actual cinema isn't bad, it's the wankers who go there and talk the whole way through it. Then there's the projectionists who have no idea what they're doing with movies that aren't alligned with the screen properly and sound fuck ups where the the music is so loud, you can't hear what the actors are saying.

Where would I prefer to watch a film? A home cinema.

It's the cinema feeling, just without the idiots.

I am a projectionist and I can tell you that we have no control over the levels of sound on a movie other than the central amp. If the central amp is left switched off there would be no talking whatsoever, just surround sound/music. So there is no way they can turn a movies music up to a point where it is louder than the talking.

EDIT: If the image is misaligned with the screen however you can probably CALL THEM OUT on that and get your money back.
