So the arcade version has just been released in Japan (opening day was yesterday I think). Someone managed to record some really good match vids, here you go:
Dictator vs Ken. Dictator is on crack. Good match.
For the record this Zangief player is bloody great. From the looks of it SF4 Zangief will be the first good grappler in any fighting game ever.
Abel vs. Ken. What's with all the Ken love? Fuck sake! This isn't SF3, and you're not Daigo!
Ry vs Ken. These guys suck but for some reason I love the way this match plays.
And i'm thinking it looks fuckin hot. I love the gameplay, which is much mroe about, as
whatever the hell the game designers name is said, almost like boxing in that it's fast and about guessing what your opponent is going to do, and much less on combos and crossups and juggles all the other bullshit that have crept their way into fighters lately.
Everything else is great as well. Music is hard to pick up but you can hear it in the Ryu vs Ken video and it's real nice on that stage at least. Graphics are great as well, just little details like dust sprays when the characters dash and jump around makes the whole game seem much more lively.
On another note, this is only the arcade version. The home version still has at least half a year to go. From what I understand they will be using the arcade version as a kind of massive fucking balancing test. Once the Home version is out, the Arcade version is supposed to get a small update with all the changes. So, things like wonky damage on some moves (EX piledriver does no more damage than a standard 2hit combo
) will most likely be fixed in the version you guys will get to play.
