If I were you i'd buy an arcade stick that fits for both 360 and PC, pirate it,

I didn't know there was such a thing, I thought I'd have to buy some wireless converter or something.

Bah, I'm too used to Soul Caliber, throws are freaking ridiculous.

Also, wheres my air guard!?! *pouts*

I really appreciate that they managed to make a 3D game feel like the 2D games, it wasn't clumsy at all. My only real gripe is that Chun-li's hysterical jump up and down victory animation is no longer hilarious because its so slow now.

Also, very disappointed in the backgrounds.

Jesus! I feel so fucking RIPPED OFF buying for the special edition! The game alone costs £30. The special edition cost me double that! And what did I get? WHAT DID I GET!? 2 cheap looking figurine things and a bluray in a sleeve! THEY DIDN'T EVEN GIVE ME A BLURAY CASE! JESUS! £30 for 2 figurines, a disc (of a boring-ass anime), a stupid wee 4 page moves book and some costumes!? RIP FUCKING OFF!

why didn't you actually check what was in the special edition before buying it? like i'm pretty sure they had LISTED CONTENT before the release or you could even go to like amazon or something.

Well for a bit of comfort, you don't need to know those combos to get good at the game, hell it even takes Seth Killian (some super duper fighting game genious) 10 tries to beat some of them.

you havent tried this yet have you bisse

the challenge trail mode isn't really what people thought it was, it's really just finding the insanely small timing on a bunch of links and cancels and the game doesn't give you any tips on how to do it at all, just the motions. :welp: a lot of the combos aren't things i see in matches and don't seem any good so why...?

I seriously seriously doubt sKill or w/e his handle is can do some of these in less than ten tries btw. wait until you try it.

also the argument that this game is the same as sf2 is pretty bunk and i'm surprised to see someone like steel trying to make a case for it.
the av club? seriously? i get all my advice on what i should like from the fine folks at theonion.com (satire technicians)
to me it's always a good idea to rent first, you might just hate the game at a basic level and never pick it up again

its all goooood though bro

no one who works for the onion works for the av club and they're usually on point with reviews. if you are someone like me or someone who doesn't follow this series and think WHOA WHAT ABOUT...PARRIES or whatever yeah it hasn't changed much. I played it in the arcade and did not think it was really changed much and that for me is not enough from a series's fourth iteration plus a billion sidegames. plus bisse likes it and even he said "yeah its not much different (but this is good)".

idk this series has always annoyed me on some level because of just how many there are, and I feel the same way about Megaman (another Capcom franchise) and I'm always reluctant to even spend a dime on their products just because I hope it discourages them from churning shit out one after another! I remember some guy did a calculation and found out at the height of the Battle Network series ever since Megaman's creation it averaged out to a Megaman game like every three months, and it was around the same for Street Fighter. so I keep popping in here and saying HEH BALLS LOOKS LIKE SHIT just because someone...has to take a stand.........

I mean Grindie shoulda checked what came with it but I lolled at that special edition. all special editions are kinda shitty too!

i see what you mean but
"In this time of economic uncertainty—so long 401K; hello pink slip—there’s something almost comforting in the way the Street Fighter series never evolves or matures. It’s still This Guy vs. That Guy."
is one of the worst intros to a review i've heard in a while

sf: still this guy vs that guy... what the hell is it suppoused to be?? that's the premise of the whole game.

war never changes... - solud snake aka snake

also under reasons for buying he doesn't even mention person v person competition aka the only fun thing about any sf. instead he/she mentions the graphics which actually seem pretty shit to me and a terrible reason to drop sixty usd on a game. in the end it gets a b- which seems entirely a bid for reducing rabble rabble in the comments.
it's a competitive game and reviews that only play through the arcade mode should give it f's imo. seth is a crap character that ruins the whole arcade experience. if you aren't interested in going online and beating on strangers or your buds, then yep, this is a rehash and you should hate it.

the comments on that review nail the problems with it.

I would've bought it anyway. I'm a fucking idiot when it comes to Street Fighter. It wouldn't be so bad if they actually gave me a cover with the movie disc. Still a rip, but not as bad.

So it would seem a lot of people have had the same thought as me, as I cant even find a good PC arcade stick in stock that isn't some cheap piece of crap like this.

I'm really just looking for a decent PC arcade stick that doesnt cost 250$ and doesn't require me to freaking build it myself or wait 6 to 8 weeks for the guy to build. The standard searches yield little to no results. Suggestions?

So, my XBL name is now justingroton if anybody wants to play sometime.

I have gone about 350 matches undefeated so far.

All of these scrub Ken/Ryu/Sagat players just don't understand how to beat my Rufus shenanigans.

oh yeah and NightBlade get like the Hori Fighting Stick EX2 for the 360 or the Fighting Stick 3 for the PS3, they both are PC compatible and are decent sticks.

Oh, they are compatible with the PC? Thanks a lot, I had no idea. I can't find an online vendor who still has it in stock, but I know of a import game store near where I live that might have them in.

HAH! Only payed $20 extra for mine, sucker. But yeh the CE is kind of shit! From what I hear you only get 5 of the alt costumes too. Man at least you get a Ryu figurine though if you got it for the PS3, I only have a 360 so i'm getting some horrible C.Viper shit. Got a very special place reserved for it right here in the trash bin.

Fuck! Did you get it for PS3 or 360? How am I going to stomp your Ryu if you got it for the PS3??

Nightblade, yeh those are def. PC compatible. They have USB cables and there's drivers to download online to make them work on the PC, they might even come with the stick AFAIK. Just gonna make a final shoutout for the MadCatz SF4 stick since im fairly certain you can use it on the PC as well (more news on this when they fucking ship my stick) and its a better stick than Hori. Hori is going to do the job for you though, just saying.

I got it for the PS3 of course, the 360's dpad is just NOT GOOD ENOUGH! But Next week I'll go buy it for the 360 too 'cause I love giving Capcom my money. So get practicing, 'cause I'm gonna eat your giant Swedish ass on the virtual battlefield!

That sounded really gay.

Anyone get one of the Madkats fight pads? I'm gonna pick one up for the 360... so I'll end up paying £60 AGAIN! JESUS! I need to see the wonderful Wizard of Oz and get a brain. I hear he sells them or something.

I'll tell you all about my MadCatz once they deliver the fucking thing!

Got the game five hours ago and been playing it non-stop since then. It's bloody great, it's everything I thought it would be, but the online is somehow worse than SFHD. Not that SFHD's onle is bad, it's great, but how can they make the most important part of their main title worse than some lowbudget remake of a game from '94? Quick Match never lets me connect, so to find a match I have to use Custom Match which takes 30secs to search, every goddamn time. And then I get one shot at connecting, if it fails I have to reload the list again.
I've found the best way to play matches online is to enable that Challengers thing where you play the arcade mode and then people challenge you. It's somehow much faster than the lobby system and it works every time. What the fuck? Plus you get to bust some AI in between matches instead of watching some loading screen and listen to that ultra gay song. Plus it makes unlocking characters more fun.

Unfortunely im sick and my head hurts so i'm not at my top game but i'm pretty sure El Fuerte is one of the coolest characters i've ever played. Once my fever's gone i'll become a Fuerte machine!

I'm going to add you later dude, just so you know. 350 matches? :fogetgasp: you must have a fuckton of bp by now
Rufus is surprisingly (to me, haven't been following arcade scene) a beast though, I've noticed his ultra can connect off of a lot of different things :fogetnah:

Let's have a gw tourney soon. :fogetnaughty: :fogetnaughty:

Needs to be a good Arcade pad that would work for both PS3 and 360 :(.

My roommate picked up the ps3 version yesterday and it is great though.
