so, after playing a bit with my friends, i see the tiers are gonna change a little. Marth became much better, he feels a little awkward at first because his dashdance patterns changed and he lost his ground controlling moves, but he makes up with crazy damage and better ways to get someone off the stage AND he kept his regular f-tilt.
also Lucario is really good. i'm thinking somewhere along the lines of Peach good. he can play a deadly keepaway game and he has some really good mixup tools. and he can stick to walls for wall shenanigans when edge guarding. he's like what would happen if mewtwo didn't absolutely suck.
Fox feels weaker and Falco too, they seem to have lost the ability to shffl but they can do some other stuff better. crazy mixups from a throw or when the guy starts shielding. maybe they're still top but different, i don't know. i'd say high for fox and top for falco because falco feels just that much more solid but maybe i'm wrong.
modded wiis are so good.
Good to hear impressions from a GW member and for that I hate you (jealous). Marth was always top tier though (4th if I'm not mistaken) and I really didn't think he'd be going even higher from what I've heard so far. His recovery was nerfed (can only do one side-B for horizontal distance), his range was shortened, and he runs a bit slower (granted most characters do). He wasn't affected by the floatiness that much though since he was a floaty character to begin with. I thought dash dancing was useless in Brawl? All the vids I've seen so far show that it's much harder to pull off consistently. Glad Marth still has his F-air and tipper though. He may end up being my main again.
Lucario does look beastly though. How does Wolf compare to Fox and Falco? Is he better? Worse? He seems really good from the vids I've seen so far.
Oh, and are you planning on joining the GW tourney?
Are you sure smoke balls aren't too broken? I... I don't even think I would be able to play if I couldn't visually pinpoint the optimal animation frame to perform a waveland with jigglypuff.
Sucks for you. You gotta be able to do that shit with your eyes closed. Seriously though, no WDing/WLing in Brawl.
Wait, is this going to be a tournament with all items turned off and only
playing on on final destination?
Yes and no. We're planning two tourneys for now, one with items/any stage allowed and the other being closer to tourney specifications. Stages like Battlefield, Delfino Plaza, Yoshi's Island, Lylat Cruise, Bridge of Eldin, Smashville, Sky World, Castle Siege, Pokemon Stadium 2, Battleship Halberd, Shadow Moses Island, Final Destination, Yoshi's Island, Corneria, and Onett seem like they'll be fine in the second tourney. I have a feeling most people will say no to the second more regulated tournament, but I really think everyone should do that one as well since it's just for fun and because you may actually end up enjoying yourselves. Your call though.
As for the stock, I was thinking we do 4 stock with best two out of 3. Yes, matches take longer, but there'll be several matches going on at once, so it still shouldn't take too long. We can work this out later though.
