Hearing you idiots going on about skill in Smash Bros. made me laugh out loud (or LOL as some twats may say). There's no skill. It's a game of button mashing and random power ups. Skill? Hahahahah! You guys are hilarious!

Wait, so did Grindie seriously get banned for this post?!

Grindie was temp banned after a number of posts/warns. Just like everyone else.

But this isn't the time or the place for this discussion.

PS: Nintendo hate Europeans.

Okay, this is a pretty good post compared to other recent ones. Seems a bit like Pit's, or in the same vein at least.

And Grindie, i'm sorry, but you must not know the game if that's what you think about it!

Wow...Grindie, I'm disappointed in you. Come on, I thought you were better than that. I'm willing to bet $100 that my 5 year old brother could beat someone who button mashes in melee (he can beat my brother's 16 year old friend, and he's doesn't button mash). Button mashing may be effective in some fighting games but it absolutely does not work in smash.

When was Europe's release date before this delay?

Oh, and Dedede's FS is pretty cool. I like how the Waddle Dees can break the terrain in Skyworld.

This is Twilight Princess all over again. I'm sure the US date and JP date will be pushed back again pretty soon.

Things like this are the reason I hate my wii. Nintendo knew Smash Bros was coming. They should've had their wifi done looooong ago.

Walkthrough of how to play online against anyone today.  Nothing major, and a couple things that could really suck.  I WANT to be able to create a room, just so I can make the game how I want to play it.  I hope we'll be able to change it from a 2-minute KO fest as well, as 1) 2 minutes isn't anywhere near long enough of a game, and 2) I HATE timed matches.  Give me a stock count, or give me another game.
I'm not conceited.  I'm as good as I say I am.

And there is one more important thing...

When you have a battle mode that runs online like Basic Brawl, the problem of what to do with hidden characters arises. If one of your opponents chooses a character you haven’t unlocked yet, it will be spoiled for you immediately.

But even without this mode, given the proliferation of the Internet these days, the existence of hidden characters is going to get exposed anyway.

So, this time I’m moving in the direction of not being too hung up on hidden characters.

This makes me think there are more unrevealed characters, maybe a lot more.  If he's referring only to this hidden characters already on his site, then anyone reading this would already be spoiled.

EDIT:  Can you play with your user created stages online?  If so, how would that work?  Maybe you can't, since a user could potentially arrange platforms to spell out the word "fuck" and we can't have that now can we.

My guess would be no.  Maybe the 'Stage of the Day' or whatever they're going to call it, but I doubt you'll be able to play with any other than that and the actual included-with-the-game ones.

You know, this got me thinking. Imagine if we'd be able to set a 99 stock match online lolololz but yeah I'm curious as to how this will end up. :fogetmmh: The thing I'm worried about right now is the number of players on random. 4-player is fun and all, but ultimately I prefer fighting 1on1 matches. That said, there should be an option allowing us to determine the number of players in the matches we play. I'm looking forward to Wi-Fi very much so I hope that it won't suck.

My guess would be that many of the problems you just mentioned are adjustable in friend mode.  Since the play anyone option has to consider up to four different people (and therefor four different preferences), the options are going to be more random.  However, when you play against friends, I would guess that the person who creates the room would determine all the settings.  But there's no way of knowing for sure.

And I can't wait to find out which secret characters they're not telling us about.  I'm glad they're not revealing everything, even if it does mean a lot of boring updates.

That’s epic! Can we really do this? Wouldn’t you say it’s way better than having all your opponents drop out?
God haha he gets so excited sometimes.

They did. They had it done eight months ago. If you're talking about Nintendo WFC for Wii, I mean. Smash was probably pushed back for the same reason all Nintendo games get pushed back--they didn't feel like they were done yet. They're late with every game they put out. Getting surprised and upset about it at this point is an exercise in futility.

I just wish you could adjust the battle options before fighting. It seems kinda lame to just be at random.

They could even have some of the settings be done by lottery like the stages.  Everyone votes on if they want a timed or stock match, and such, and then the majority wins (assuming there is a majority).  Perfect?  No.  Better?  I think so.

If it's only timed matches, that would SUCK. I'm sorry but Random isn't a good idea for this type of game! Also I hope it's not always 4v4, etc. I hope they add more indepth options to this mode, as this was probably the most anticipated part of the game.

Although, if you drop out and a CPU replaces you, that's pretty cool too.

Heh, maybe you just can't battle someone that is using an unlocked character or map. Or maybe you can't go online at all until you unlock everything!
