I didn't think of it of being bad or anything
However, I unlocked almost all 35 characters in subspace emissary(the reason why I didn't unlock all of them was because I didn't complete subspace yet), my guess is yes, you can unlock all of them after doing something pacific first.

When people do things like this, it slowly unravels the threads that hold together the sweater of society

BTW: The only reason it was done was because we were being treated unfairly and because our complaints fell on the deaf ears on our DM and RM.

You have to do special things to unlock 2-3 of them, but it's still in SSE.

Has anyone been to the tournaments in cali? I'm going to the one in Boston on sat and I want to get an idea of what to expect.

Are you talking about Melee or Brawl? If Melee, prepare to get your ass kicked hard.

If you're talking about Brawl though, you really shouldn't have much to worry about. Everyone is pretty much the same skill level right now. Just don't get intimidated, stay cool, and you'll be fine.

Everyone's a noob in Brawl. After a match or two, you'll have just as much of a chance as they do.

EDIT: Just so you guys know, gamestop is supposed to be replacing their SMG kiosks with Brawl on either March 4th or 5th (most likely 5th). Might be a good idea to go try it out if you're participating in the tournament.

There are special requirements.  For most of them, you either get them to join you in the Subspace Emissary, you complete some specific objective, or you play a certain number of Brawls.  There's info on the Dojo about how to unlock each character, so you don't have to do it through the Emissary if you don't want to.

I'd just check back later if I were you. They've been slow about handing out information to their employees. My gamestop didn't know either until I mentioned that they were on the list.

God I can't wait for the release. I'm going to a friends apartment and playing it all night and the next day from it's midnight release.

Haha...same here. I already requested off work on Sunday. My plan is this:

Get to gamestop at 7 or so and practice for the tournament on the Brawl kiosk.
Enter the tournament at 10 (and hopefully win it).
Grab my copy at midnight, run to my friend's house, and play until around 5 in the morning.
Go home, sleep, wake up at 10 or 11, and play the rest of the day.

I don't think I'm even going to be eating much that Sunday.

Brawl will kill my academic life.
