Uh, where is this article? Last time I checked, AMD was struggling to keep up with Intel. I got a new computer half a year ago and unfortunately went with AMD because I didn't know Intel would had been the better choice. Maybe it's different now though, I dunno. I'm not really all that well educated on processors but I'm sure someone with more knowledge on the situation can help you choose which processor to pick. I also think that going with 4 gigs of ram could be a good idea.
http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10442_7-6389077-1.htmlThat's one spot, just search AMD vs. Intel in google lol. But yea, to start off with I was doing the 2gigs(the mobo has 4 slots, 2 gigs = 2 slots) and as I get money plan to upgrade to 4gb. Also to note, I have used Asus mobo's for years now, and have had no problems(current PC uses a Asus A7n8x-x mobo and is 3 years old). I decided Asus since I had good luck in the past, and am leary about trying new company's.
Oh yea, at work today our instructor was talking about a customer's HDD. He kept saying 250gb of memory, we all assumed RAM and were thinking what the hell. He was talking about how 250gb of memory would be a thing of the past by next year, and how consumers are demanding more and more(with up to a terabyte now). I was thinking what the hell 250gb of RAM will last years into the future rofl. After class he got hounded on lol.
edit: Hrm, just realized some of those reviews are almost 2 years old. I may look into pentiums actually, I have never had a Pentium processor though so have no clue what the differences are. I use my PC for gaming(pretty hardcore), and like to play newest games on at least medium-high settings. I mean 3.4 ghz/w dual-core seems like a good processor(current is a single-core with only 2.1ghz), but I don't know.
