I have no eFFing clue what I'd really want from anyone, but I did get flames tix for my stepdad, pearls for my mom, a bunch of clothes for my bro and sis and I haven't a clue what to get my dad yet.

I custom made a oilers logo for my boyfriends present I am getting him stuff with the logo and his name in it, he's too excited.

hopefully a new amp, and i'm probably buying my mom this new cd she wanted and a dvd

I'm getting a new mobile phone, the Sony Ericsson K850i. It's like the iPhone... but better and cheaper. Also other assorted gifts, like DVDs and CDs. Not sure what yet.

I'm getting my brother Battle Royale by Koushun Takami, and possibly a game, and I'm getting my mom's boyfriend an Italian cookery book. Not sure about what to get anyone else.

I usually don't get gifts for people because I a) don't have much money and b) don't know what to get anyone, but both of those things have changed this year.  The only person I'm getting a gift is my mom, but we usually just do gifts for immediate family anyway, and that's only the four of us.  My brother is getting something for my dad, and I finally came up with something to get for my mom, so it evens out pretty well.

I got my mom a really nice copy of Singin' in the Rain on DVD, and even though it'll come in a bit later than I expected (but still in plenty of time for Christmas) I've also gotten her the record of the soundtrack.  Her and my dad both love to buy old records, so I thought this would be a good combination.  The two times we've watched that movie together on TV, she would talk about how much she loves it and how she used to watch it all the time as a kid, so it just seemed like a great idea.

As for me, I'm pretty sure I'm getting an Xbox 360.  I don't know what else I might get, especially since my birthday is next week so I'll be getting presents all over the place the next few weeks.

I have no idea so far about my actual family, but for a few friends a jumper/hat, a poster of Soul Plane (inside joke) and a giant pair of lips which is also the Rocky Horror Picture Show DVD.

Getting:

A few colour psychology and cinematography books and some Philip K Dick
DVDs:
Happy Together, Little Red Flowers, La Haine (ultimate), Oldboy (american 3-disc), Paradise Now

And a bottle of Sambuca.

Sambuca involved, this will be a kick ass christmas.

Don't you guys think it kind of ruins the surprise of Christmas if you know what you're getting?  I usually make a big list of things I can think of and I'm happy to get one or two things from it, but I usually get stuff that wasn't on my list; most of which are pretty good gifts.

A friend of mine is cheekily buying another friend (a guy) a Hunks 2008 calendar. I thought that was a great joke present.

If it's not too late, tell your friend to get or make a real gift. Joke gifts are not gifts, they're jokes, and jokes are free and easy.
