To answer the question in the topic: No I didn't even smile. In fact I literally threw up in my mouth a little. Especially when the trailer switched to present day New York and Donald Trump cut Spider Man's web. I would rather kick myself in the forehead repeatedly than watch this movie.

And it's not like they're landmark pop culture events either. 10 years from now is anybody really going to remember or care about Sanjaya or Britney Spears shaving her head? Yeah, these movies are pretty horrible. I didn't even see Epic Movie but Date Movie was very bad. It's from the same people who made those, right?

They're just dumb comedy, not even good dumb comedy.

I admit, I laughed when he kicked Britney down, but that's just because I really dislike her.
I've seen parts of Epic Movie and... bleh, the only funny scene in that film was "Li-man"... nice to be acknowledged.

It looks like an incredibly juvenile movie that's capitalizing on the success of a critically acclaimed popular movie using sophomoric humor. No thanks. Perhaps it will be fun to watch with a ladyfriend or something.

wow that was probably one of the worst things i've ever seen. i had to watch it twice just to make sure i wasn't like MISSING SOMETHING.

was that Gerard Butler though? i have a hard time believing he would do that but if it's not then they got a pretty convincing lookalike.

ugh these stopped being funny so long ago. epic movie was an all time low though and i really doubt these are gonna help the franchise at all. scary movie three at least made me laugh but epic movie i almost turned off like half way through were i not with a group

Yeah I hate to say it but Scary Movie 3 made me lol a few times, like when the sherriff lady's hat got progressively bigger for no reason

But yeah I was saying to Doppleganger today, there like aren't even jokes in this movie, they're not even making OBSERVATIONS or COMMENTS or SATIRE about anything, they're just like showing well-known imagery in hopes of it being some kind of LAUGH STIMULUS - like the entire movie is constructed out of MEMES or something which actually makes it pretty fascinating

like another example of cringe-worthy parodies would be MadTV which at least feels like they met together and went WHAT IF WE COMBINED THESE TWO THINGS and you know, made jokes by comparing/contrasting the two, even if their choices feel REALLY random sometimes. Meet The Spartans is like COMBINE TWO THINGS. Like, comedy is some sort of math equation where you can just combine two elements and it becomes something original / worth watching

IMO, Scary Movie 3 was the last decent-good movie they've made. Epic Movie sucked hard balls and this movie looks like it'll suck more. It's not even worth going to see for the "lol this movie sucks" laughs.

yeah...

they weren't funny before that either. scary movie and its sequels were still basically just as dumb as the others. i don't even understand who SEES this shit at this point. like i do not think i have seen a scene in any single one of these movies that has been clever or well thought out or anything even close. it is always, always just HEY HERE IS A SCENE FROM THAT ONE MOVIE YOU PROBABLY SAW, BUT DIFFERENT (AND STUPID) AND PERHAPS A REFERENCE TO YET ANOTHER MOVIE YOU SAW. heh i get it it's like 300 except theyre dancing like you got served so good

it's great because it's so heavily based around stupid short-term popculture bullshit like random lame movies, half of which are already out of date (hey guys wanna guess how many times ANYONE ANYWHERE has thought about you got served in the last six months?), that in like ten years, not only will this shit STILL be completely unfunny and without merit, but it probably won't even be especially comprehensible. i kind of want to SHOW MY KID THIS in twenty years or something and have him be like "what the fuck is any of this shit"

My favorite part is that by the time these come out on DVD, no one cares about those movies they talked about anymore, and our attention spans are so short that no matter how fast they release the DVD, we've still already forgotten.
