it's worth it from everything I've seen and Soul Calibur is pretty easy on the n00bs.

so is this game worth it or what? is the replay value high? i am really really thinking about picking this up on 360 but honestly this is the first fighter I will basically have ever bought so is it friendly to n00bz too?

It's a damn good fighter and a damn good game. Netplay is pretty fun, but it is a BLAST if you have a friend on hand to actually physically play with. I played for five and a half straight hours last Friday with a friend.

Yeah, a thousand times more fun with people in real life. Netplay is full of assholes, Kilik spammers (not that hard to beat once you figure it out, but who wants to fight this match 100 times?), laggy matches, all kinds of stuff that sucks all the fun out of the game. I haven't even bothered to get to level twenty online yet for the 'honor' (psh :noo​ even though it wouldn't take very long.

Yeah, I only grabbed about two online honors, don't think I'll want any more than that. As you said, there are tons of spammers online and it is just too frustrating to fight them over and over again.

There are some wonderfully skilled people on there too, though. I had my ass handed to me by an amazing Talim player.

I just got this game. I'm about half done the story playthroughs, 12 floors through the ascent of tower of souls or whatever, and already have 15 characters made. It's addictive.

I'm really digging that nunchuk guy.

My other fave is that white knight with the giant sword, because he's cheap as hell (good for ripping through story mode to earn mola) or the pirate Cervantes or whatever.

Scratch who I'm good with.. I now only use Nightmare and Cervantes and I customized them so I have some really good abilities like HP Drain Rank A and Auto Impact Rank A.. I can take the computer on Very Hard and am neck and neck with the Computer on Edge Master.

I have yet to play this game online though.. But I think I should do really well online if I can go toe to toe with the Edge Master comp.. Still gotta use my code from the premium edition to get the extra content. Haven't even renewed my 1 year subscription yet.

You only really care about those augments for the tower of souls mode

Bumping this topic up but... Quite a lot of people actually play Special Vs.. I actually prefer it to Standard Vs because of the different skills that you can put on your guys and its more fun like that.

Right now I am 75-1 in Ranked Special Versus with my first and only loss coming today on a totally laggy game where I couldn't even counter..

I am 32-7 in Ranked Standard Versus... I started out 0-3 a few months ago when I first started playing the game but I got really good at it as time went on so I am basically 32-4. Almost got all the achievements now too...

Also got these records all with Cervantes... I am really good with him.

While this topic is bumped, Vader is now available as DLC for 360 and Yoda's available for PS3 for anyone who's interested. Off to grab Vader I go, I'm sick of the stumpy green bastard.

I got Yoda yesterday. Yet to play as him... not sure why I bothered getting him to be honest. The new yoda is the second least appeasing character in new star wars.

I somehow find Shura to be better than Cervantes despite the fact that they use the same moveset. I don't know, maybe shura has a longer reach?

The same applys to Darth Vader, kind of. I mean, if you get the hang of some of his moves he's OK, but the fact that moves any normal character can do repeatedly (see: throw) Darth has that damn Force Bar to deal with (yoda and apprentice too for that matter). So, even the oh-so-whatever throw Force Choke has its uses, Darth pretty much blows. He's powerful (slightly) and freaking freaking slow. Almost as slow as Rock, I'd say.
