Was a pretty good episode, better than I expected from anything related to Michael. A few surprises too.

... the biggest surprise however was: Tom is gay, lol

Correction: Tom WAS gay, hes dead now. It was sawyer that shot him if I'm not mistaken.

I have a question to anyone that thinks they have an answer... of course it would be just opinion I'm still curious:
Do you really think the Ben is a 'good' guy as he keeps stating? or do you think he's lying and has selfish intentions? or do you think he has delusions of being good and THINKS that what he is doing is for the greater good? He always has this child-like look of faint awe on his face when he says that they are the "good guys" and its kind of creepy.

Also my comments on this episode:

The whole thing with Micheal not being able to kill himself seemed bizarre to me its weird to think that the island has influence outside of itself... They keep saying its the Island that is doing this.

What I don't understand is why Ben had Tom lie to Micheal about killing everyone on the boat, it would have made more sense if he just told him he had to sabotage their boat. he probably would have been more willing to do the job then wouldn't he?

By telling the captain that he has a traitor on his boat caused the captain to send his men out to kill everyone on the island... I think... then again I'm guessing that the men who shot Ben's Daughter's boyfriend and real mother (the French chick) were from the boat, and I could be entirely wrong...

Actually, now it makes sense why Jack couldn't kill himself by jumping off of the bridge in that flashforward from last season's finale. The island caused the car accident that made him turn around and help the injured women. Maybe this also explains why Hurley is so reckless in the future - maybe he knows he can't die and that's what's partly causing him to go crazy.

No. I don't really think so.

It seems like there's a lot more going on between Ben and Whitmore then the show is
showing to us. Ben was so competely determined to NOT let Jack call to the boat, yet he
doesn't let michael blow the thing up. If the Island is really that important, he would've
tried to get it out of the way.

Secondly, he doesn't shy away from killing innocent people, unlike he told Michael on the
boat. He's given orders to do away with various people who were innocent. It's just HIM
who doesn't kill them directly.

Other than that, Ben must've known the Others were going to shoot Rousseau and the
boyfriend. He didn't want them around in the first place and sees both as a threat. That's
why he sent them to go with his 'daughter'.

This is all speculation however. Knowing lost it'll turn out he's a 'good guy' anyway.

The only thing dumber than an argument on the Internet is the same argument in real life.

Oh God this new episode was awesome. It didn't reveal a shitload of details or whatever, but it was just crazy intense. Ben Linus is one of the most entertaining characters in the series, and really seeing some more shit with his back story was great. The cinematography was amazing in that final conversation at the end.

Awesome, I'm glad we had another episode revolving around Ben. He's been my favorite character for a long time and it's nice to see him doing more stuff than looking creepy and being vague.

Sawyer's growing, too. I mean I've always loved Sawyer, and he was my favorite character before Ben, but his relationships with the other characters (namely Hurley) are really evident now. Oh wow, character development. Unfortunately Jack's still a piece of crap who nobody cares about.

Theories and shit: Teleportation to the Sahara desert? Time travel has been an obvious one for a while now, especially with that video where the rabbit duplicated itself. The polar bear in the desert thing from the beginning of the seasons now actually ties in, since Ben showed up in a similar spot.

And a kickass smoke monster scene. We haven't heard much about him in a while and I'm glad they haven't forgotten about the smoke monster for all the "oh man a boat" shit.

Well, I can only agree with everyone else here. This episode was pretty darn good and I can almost guess that they decided to stop the show right before this one, only to open up with something cool again. The scene with the smoke monster was kickass. The biggest surprise however was the death of Ben's daughter.

Did anyone else laugh when he said "They changed the rules"? Its simular to his quote in Saw "Its the rules"

lol yes, I did lol but not for that reason, it was just funny. It was like a kid going "hey, you can't do that, its againts the rules!"

Yay, new episode. Unfortunately it was just a Jackforward, and Jack's episodes are always the most boring. Looking back, not much really happened in the episode.

Charlotte knows Korean. We learn that people made the choice to stay on the island and weren't killed (something most people had guessed anyway). In the future, Jack proposed to Kate (nobody cares). Claire walked off into the woods. That's really all that happened in the entire episode.

And considering that Christian Shepherd is Jacob, Claire'll probably be chillin' in Jacob's cabin next episode when Locke, Ben and Hurley get there.

Yeah, this episode was a filler if anything else. We learned some minor stuff like Sawyer staying but other than that, nothing really. The whole Jack & Kate getting engaged didn't matter since we know from the season 3 finale that they ended up splitting anyway.

I was really hoping this episode would have been about Jacob... oh well, maybe next then.

I reckon claire will die. We know that something happens to her from the flash forwards. Jack's dad seems to lead people to their deaths. He led Jack so a cliff edge where he almost fell to his bloody end, but Locke, the saviour rescued him.

Jack's Dad wasn't Jacob, there were 2 people in the cabin. Unless there was another reason you came up with that conclusion?

I'm not sure Despain, I think the decline begins when he starts drinking at the end of the episode etc. Kate leaves him, and he goes crazy like Hurley and wants to go back to the island
