About 10 minutes ago, I went to grab a cappuccino at a coffee shop about 2 blocks away from my house. Well, that was my intention at least. I ended up at a police scene. What happen exactly? I was about a block away from the store now and I could litterally see the welcoming bright lights of the coffee shop ahead.
Anyways as I was walking I noticed some old guy who look like he was about 50-55 years old walking on the sidewalk parallel to the sidewalk I was on. He paused, for a moment and looked the opposite way. I really don't know why I stop looking at the bright heavenly light of the coffee shop but I kept starring at him regardless. After a few seconds I saw him bending a little bit. Now I thought to myself, what the hell is this man doing? Yeah, you probably guessed it by now. The man litterally jumped in front of a car! The front of the car hit him and he sort of rolled onto the hood. He ended up laying on the car in a snow angel like position with his head/body horizontal to the hood of the car.
The sound of the car hitting him was pretty shocking. I just starred helplessly but I wasn't shaken up at all. For some reason, things of this nature does not scare me. The lady was completely distraught though and looked as if she had just lost a child in an accident. I think I managed to take one last look at the coffee shop before I headed her way =). There were about 15 cars around with drivers and passengers inside that were just watching the lady walk around aimlessly in the streets. There were quite a few pedestrians too as well that weren't very helpful at all...
I honestly didn't even think twice about helping the lady out. My mind was sort of just blank a bit. I ended up walking over to her to inform her that I was in the process of calling 911. I called 911 and explained the situation. The emergency service lady I was talking to was f-ing annoying, seriously. She asked the most irreverent questions ever but I guess it was just a tactic to keep me on the phone. The shirt of the man was rolled up leaving his stomach exposed and I could see that he was really breathing heavily. His breathing suddenly changed, he started to breathe really really fast! I kept the person on the phone updated with what was going on. I forgot to mention that I was really close to the injured man at this point. This is the part that freaked the shit out of me. This man's eyes were completely rolled back in his head and he clearly looked like he was unconscious. While I was talking to the emergency service person on the phone... The old man suddenly jumped up with his arms remaining horizontal as he rose like he was being raised up by a rope. He basically just sat there starring at the sky for a few moments. I was a little on edge myself since he sprung up so spontaneously. It looked like he was possessed or something. The old man then rolled off the car and walked away like nothing happened!
At this point I was honestly going to walk away as well. I then realized that the man might have just been in shock and still needed medical attention. A cruiser came howling by and stopped where I was (I guess he saw me on the cell phone?). I never noticed, but the Italian lady (the driver who hit the old man) took off... Lmao... Wow.
Another cruiser found the man old man a couple of blocks down. The officer who was with me drove me to where the old man was. I had to sit in the back seat which made me laugh a little (Mcloving anyone?). I was informed that this man had some serious mental issues and he was also suicidal. No statement was necessary apparently. The officer asked me if I needed a ride anywhere and I said take me to the coffee shop, he smiled at me and said I was heading there myself... I looked at him and said... I know...
