I've played this on 360, and the downfalls were all related to the console. Controller input, lack of servers, few map choices, frequent disconnects since games could ONLY be hosted by players (and are limited to only 16 max).

I just bought the PC version and its much more hectic now that everyone can aim and strafe better. Definitely feeds my FPS deathmatch urges.

I have a headset, but the talk wasn't about gameplay most the time, so I just shut up and let Bloodline destroy my eardrums.

not talking about gameplay is way more fun than talking about gameplay though.

get your priorities straight!

perhaps you guys can help me...

With the recent update, I've been experiencing some really annoying (and gamebreaking for me) graphical glitches.  After about 10 minutes of play, textures (walls, floors, etc.) will turn solid black.  Models (Players, Guns, etc) turn solid white, and some floors disappear. (You can still walk over them, but you can see through)  and then the game starts lagging  about a minute afterwards to the point I have to alt-tab out to close down the game.

What should I do?

edit: Heres a screenshot

Shit son that can't be no good. Try reinstalling is my only suggestion.

Man I was laughing in that one game the other day on orange_x.

"Circle strafe, circle strafe!"
"Run around like idiots, run around like idiots!"
"... I prefer to call it circle strafe. :("

Firstly... the game looks AWESOME like that.

Second update your graphics drivers.

Thirdly:  Reinstalling worked (apparently, haven't had a problem yet, and it worked for over an hour)
Fourthly: I try to, but Nvidia tells me to go to the manufacturers site, and they reroute me to Nvidia...

With the recent update
It never did this before, so why would the game updating make me need new drivers?

.. uh, are you serious, jackyl?

Updated graphics (they may have updated SOMETHING to do with how the graphics are displayed) could very well need updated drivers. That's.. how drivers work.

well...  I finally managed to get new drivers (which are still two years old, but 4 months newer than my last ones, so...)
The game runs smoother, and I haven't experienced my problem I had earlier.

I wonder if I'd be able to get a new graphics card for my laptop...  or upgrade other stuff in it.  It's getting pretty dated.

Updating a graphics card in a laptop is near impossible, and even if you do get a new one installed the motherboard probably won't even recognize it.
They should make a dustbowl at night map. That screenshot would have looked cool if there weren't some missing textures.

G-G-G-Goldrush??
I don't know, I think it looks pretty interesting.  Shoot holes into my theory...  NOW!!

I've never played much of TFC, so I can't compare maps. Infact, I think I played once, on 2fort, and could rarely score any points.  I played for about 30, and people kept asking "Okay...   Who is this Newb?" (On a Newb server, so less), and I gave up on it...  It was one of the reasons why I was hesitant to buy TF2

That looks cool.

I'd say I like this a little less than Sare but a tad more than Jester.

I'd love to play some TF2 but I leave for work on Sunday at 3PM EST until about 8:15.  Do you guys usually play during the week as well?  Because I'd love to play with some people who aren't complete fools.

That is how most pubbie servers roll unfortunately. Do you know of the Lost Continents? They're a string of four private servers where a lot of very skilled people play. I could send you an invite if you'd like. As for public servers, Medick's Madhouse usually has people on it that know what they are doing and it has alltalk on.
