What passes as playable delay? I've been getting an average of 0.2 seconds and it is bugging the fuck out of me. I am by no means at the competitive level... but I don't think training myself in this environment will help me much.
I didn't think so either but I played a bunch of friends at home yesterday (whom I hadn't played with in over a week) and I think playing online helped a lot. I felt like all of my characters got speed buffs. Timing wasn't an issue either since the lag online isn't too horrible to the point where it affects timing. I hadn't been playing anything but online matches before that so I do think it helps, even if there is input lag.
Become more offensive!!
Then it doesn't matter what he's going to do because usually there is maybe 1 thing he can do out of 5 that can save his ass, and he's going to pick one of the 5 things randomly. Works in Melee at least, stick to the other guy like glue. Pain glue.
This is probably the best advice you're going to get. Constant pressure is key in screwing your opponent over, seasoned or not. Apply enough pressure and they start to panic, lose their cool, and become predictable. If you manage to do that, there's no reason you should lose.
Also Raziel, I just remembered I got your stuck in Falco's laser lock. I thought that was pretty hilarious. I wish we would have been in a walled/walk-off stage. His laser lock seems like it'd be a great strategy online since not many people are used to teching with the input lag.
