I thought of another.

The Devil Within mode in Tekken 5. Words I use to describe it are:

Boring, confusing, frustrating, lacking, pointless, tedious, and tiring. It was just a waste of disc space and a really shitty way for us to unlock things. I played it for maybe 20 minutes before saying "Forget this crap!" I then promptly unlocked all characters through nothing but endless fighting.

Another Tekken 5 moment.. Jinpachi Mishima. Very cheap boss with some very cheap attacks. I hated fighting that guy with characters I wasn't good at using.

Well if we're on the topic of fighting games, let me just throw out Ehrgeiz (or however the fuck you spell it). Im not even talking about the Battle mode, I mean that shitty ABS-RPG mode. I got the guy all the best weapons and got to the bottom of the dungeon to the last boss, and things started to look a little fun (it was a pain in the ass getting there) but then after I kill the last bad guy the guy blows up, my items fly everywhere and he screams some japanese word in pain. So you have to take the girl down and finish the game (who I had at LV1 by the way) and when I BARELY MANAGED to make it down there my ending was along the lines of:
"You have saved blah blah
the adventure is blah blah"
*cue credits*

Seriously, no.

Ohhh

Ok I see what you mean and if you look at it like that yeah it was pretty bad

Edit: Wasnt it the port of the Dreamcast game?

Yeah it was several years old by the time it came out on PS2.  I don't know *how* old, but I remember that it wasn't new when I played it on Dreamcast and that when I saw it launched on PS2 that I thought "wow that game is old."  When it originally released on Dreamcast it was actually one of the best-looking RPGs out there and was definitely the most colorful (the Dreamcast could handle a lot more textures than the competing PSX after all).  I thought it was a pretty good game when I played it but who knows how it holds up today.  Back then I could play just about any jRPG and think it was amazing.

Well in terms of story-telling and game play it loses. The game is much shorter if I am not mistaken too. The voice-acting was more enjoyable too cause it didnt have that awkward pause like in the first. G2 is also way too easy-I felt like a child playing it, but no matter.

I thought the first Grandia rivaled FF7 but many disagree with me.

So this is an awesome story but what game is that?  I remember you being a huge Lineage II fan so is that the game?  I've heard some pretty wild things about Lineage II players.  The playerbase sounds like it is disarmingly hardcore.

This could apply to any mmo where there is actual competition for things... but yeah, this is Lineage ][.

And yeah.... L][ players tend to be hardcore.

Yeah I remember the thread about that incident on this forum and I crapped my pants.  I mean it makes sense to beat someone up if they rip you off but beating somebody to death over a virtual sword worth a couple hundred dollars is insane.

Wow that's crazy, I thought that game looked and played quite well actually. Damn ACTUALLY meeting up just to beat each other up over a game is overly stupid, these guys are grown adults too.

I think L][ is ][/ is][. It wasn't even fun though, it was addictive but there was no entertainment value in killing different coloured furries for like 5 hours before moving onto different coloured ants or zombies or dragons... or monsters the same colour but with different names.

L][ has some totally bitching concepts and designs behind it (I haven't played a mmorpg where the monsters look so badass) but it's such a broken game at it's core that just makes the whole experience miserable.

Did you bot? We botted. It really does help with your exp/ money situation. Botting programs do lots of cool shit that helps you play better too. Scripts... true macros... "walker map" (singles out stuff like "items" or "players" on an independant map for easy access (requires you to play windowed mode), lists (shows exp /adena/ item/ loss/ gain over time, lists all items on the ground that's within range, all mobs, npcs, players, and the like, there are enemy and gm alarms (Mine was sounded like a submarine), force log (crashes the client in a way that doesn't leave your character vulnerable for the 15 seconds), show enemy hp/mp (not cp though), automatic accept/deny invite/ressurection/etc, automatic potion/ item consumption (use greater healing potion if hp is >[this]%, use greater cp potion, bsoe, quick healing potion, cp/ hp elixers, and etc all under seperate options) and so much more. Botters always had a distinct advantage over those who didn't bot.... which is why there used to be a lot of fighting about supposed "botters" on the forums. But eventually everyone wised up and started botting themselves and simply fought each other over hunting grounds ingame... making it funner for everyone all around. Locking down areas so your clan can bot added a nice and constant element to competition in the game~

I don't know what "botting" is, but if it's some kind of way to make the game play by itself, the I know Tales of Pirates had some feature where every 5 minutes or something it popped up a window and you had to enter a 4 letter code in it and got kicked out if you didn't do it 3 times.

This program is a little more sophisticated than any developer would allow. Yeah... this third party program automates your actions at any level you want to. Even if you aren't afk grinding, it still has many uses. And it is very much a bannable offense.

But the thing is that in 1 month of afk botting you can accomplish something that can take more than a year of live playing... so it's totally worth the risk. I will leave it at this though.... since I am doing that thing again where I fuck up a topic with L2 talk.

Q..Quest 64, anyone?

Quest 64 was more terribly mediocre than terribly bad - like so incredibly uneventful that it doesn't even deserve mentioning as an event in history

Except they were pretty scummy to release such a sucky RPG and then tout it as the first RPG for N64 - although imo Goemon 64 is kind of an RPG and a good one at that

also that DBZ game was already like 8 or 9 years old when it came out

also Infogrames always seemed like a seedy company to me

No DBZ game can be as bad as Star Wars: Masters of Tera Kasi or however the hell it was spelled. Urgh.

You win this thread for that.

That is probably one of the worst games ever spawned to mankind.

For me it was a tie:

Legend of Legaia II and.....fuck, I lied.

LEGEND OF FUCKING LEGAIA II WINS BY A LONG SHOT

The story, characters, maps and even (fucking puke-tastic) voice acting made me want to end myself. And whats the cream of the crap is the OST, composed by legendary Yasonori Mitsuda (Crono games, Xeno games) and Hitoshi Sakimoto (FF12) was so bad I had the game muted 80% of the time, aside a couple good tracks.
Haha, oh man whoever did Lang's voice is the worst voice actor EVER.
I did like the music in the game though, most of the tracks were pretty good aside from the dungeon themes.

Secret of the Stars on Super Nintendo. Bad graphics, bad music, enemies were WAY too hard (spent countless hours levelling up), bad translation (fighting enemies called BadBad, Badman and Badbunny... WTH!?), BAD storyline... actually, the only good thing that came out from this game is that you know who's the baddie right at the beginning... some guy called Homncruse... Again, BAD translation.

I resent playing Mortal Kombaeadly Alliance for the GBA.
I REALLY resent that game. Infact, if I had the chance to go back in time I'd beat some midway people in the face for making that horrible piece of trash... The console version was good though.

Are you serious? Grandia II's story was pretty bad and I agree it was nothing close to the original, but the game was terrible by no means.
This statement is false.

I don't want to get into it again because I can think of at least 30 topics I've ranted about how it is the worst fucking game in EXISTANCE, but suffice to say it is terrible by ALL means.

Hence... Grandia 2 and Grandia 3 are my worst gaming experiences.

Ever.
