Thriller Bark dragged on too long. There were a whole 20 chapters after the crew fights! The last I think was at around 469 and they didn't leave TB until late 480s or early 490s. Point? They dragged on the main fights of the arc.

This happened in EL as well, last crewfight was at 416, and they got out of there at 429-430 odd, not quite as long as TB but there they had to fight

How was the last fight? There was still to take care of, and the fight with him deserved to be drawn out as much as it had been.

And regarding the fights in Thriller Bark. They "sort of" started last episode with

I am struggling to remember this.. I have changed my avatar and signature too many times.

It was probably when I was still BIG on One Piece, 2003 or 2004. I still love the series to bits and get all giddy when I watch a new episode, but back then it was..... Magical.

I was comparing to the example the previous dude used; ie the last "nonmain" fight as it were. Obviously in both examples they still had left to deal with.

Sure is, just make sure you don't reveal anything outside of spoiler tags. I'm semi aware of what's going on in the new chapters (such as appearing again already) even though I'm not actively following the current arc.

How could the story go downhill from Kuro? That was like.. At the very beginning. That makes no sense.

I actually thought that the series was good after Kuro, in fact my favorite arc is the one that is happening now in the manga.

You have gotta be out of your mind, the series sucked until Kuro! (Actually going back and watching FUNimation's take of the Buggy Arc made me realize how flashily epic that arc was. FUNi's Buggy was fucking outstanding.

i liked everything in the one piece anime, except maybe like the apis arc because it was so fucking filler/boring. i think i enjoy most op filler episodes though, i don't know why but i guess i just like the characters and how they interact all the time

The fillers are good compared to the fillers in Bleach, and Naruto. Plus the fillers aren't ridiculously long as they are in Bleach. I enjoy the fillers because they give me a good chuckle.

That's true, One Piece fillers are pretty decent. They fit in well with the series as lighthearted "mini arcs." G8 and Ice Hunter were pretty good. G8 was just overall pretty interesting, and Ice Hunter was fun because Don Achino was a pretty decent filler villain.
