man it's so weird when people in a topic spend the past like ten posts talking about how unbelievably shitty a game is and then someone strolls in and just says "noooo my game".

it's not like they even disagree, they just come in with their completely contrary opinion, ignore everyone else, and post.

Well, I did read everyone else's post beforehand, it wasn't too hard as the thread is only two pages long.  But I liked the game, so I don't think there is a problem in showing some disappointment in it not continuing even if there are others who don't happen to like it.  But that's just me...

I read all the posts, if it was much longer thread (greater than ten pages, although if compelling enough I have no problem reading through even that many pages) then I might just post what I think and leave it at that.  The game has its fans and its critics which is true of just about any game out there, I just reside on the side of the fence that happens to like the game.

I see what you mean though, which makes it an interesting circle where people want something new but still want something old too.  But I think that's true of any publisher who has roots in classic gaming.

If you've played the shiny bright gem of a game Threads of Fate is, you'd know why it deserves a new game, unlike Final Fagasy 7, Dragon Fest[ers quest] or Mana.

It just BEGS for a direct sequel.

You can't keep the company afloat with old franchises alone. Now is the perfect time to plug original ideas, especially because of the same old bullshit Nintendo's been spewing lately. This is just a bad idea.

Yeah, I understand not wanting to plug originals simply due to the unknown demographic, but THAT'S WHAT BUSINESS IS. You've got to risk a few things in order to appear to be on top of it. Relying on the ever dwindling FF fanbase isn't going to float your proverbial boat.

Wow. It looks like most of the old companies are just dying. They just aren't trying anymore. Man... and Vagrant Story was fucking awesome, and it still is. I hate Square's way of making good games and then taking a massive crap on them because they were bored. Like FF12 -> Revenant Wings.

Dude, watch the introduction.  If that isn't reason enough NOT to buy the game then I don't know what is.  The only reason I got it was because it looked cool (a year ago when zero information was available) and fully payed off a preorder but I seriously turned the game off after the intro.

I later played through Neku's chapter but the game still remains uninteresting.  Save your cash.

Oh come on. Unless you're rich, you didn't really entirely stopped playing the game just after the intro, right? :S
