I live in Scotland, and at the moment I'm going to T in the Park, and I'm going to get a ticket for Connect Festival.

If you can't be bothered clicking the links, the pick of the bands at T in the Park are (in my opinion): Rage Against the Machine, Aphex Twin, Justice, Pendulum, MGMT, R.E.M., Ben Folds and The Chemical Brothers. I am definitely looking forward to this fest, as I would happily pay the ticket price for RATM alone. So, it's going to be awesome. That's at the start of July, so it will also be sunny - a bonus, though, as it's Scotland and you can never guarantee sun.

The Connect Festival is a different festival, it's held in a castle, and the highlights of that weekend, for me, are: Bloc Party, Sigur Ros, Asobi Seksu, Crystal Castles, The Roots, and The Coral. This festival doesn't have as good a lineup, as it only started 2 years ago and is still struggling to compete with T. But I'll still enjoy those bands and there's more to be announced so hopefully it will be better than the Kaiser Chiefs or Franz Ferdinand, ugh.

Anyway, give us details of festivals you are going to and the highlights of the lineup for you. Also, please include a link so we can check out the lineup for ourselves.

none.

Also haven't heard any festivals happening over here right now.
Maybe because it is winter.

The only major festivals we have here are usually during new years, I will probally go to bigdayout as I do every year hence I've seen Tool, Spank Rock, Chem brothers etc.

Children of bodom are coming but their newest album was shit so I'm not going.

Why dont you travel to one atari? It's worth it.

because even if i were to travel i honestly cannot think of a single worthwhile festival that would be in my area (if anyone knows of any decent festivals that would be around philadelphia let me know even if its 3 hours away from me its the closest any bands ever come)

also it doesn't help that my parents are extremely over protective and every time i've inquired about going to a concert they always say no and claim that i'll get hurt or smoke pot or something my god

The only festival I've ever been to was a country music one, which pretty much made me vow to never go to another festival again... Ankle-deep mud, pouring rain, hundreds of fat pricks in deckchairs blocking everything, and there was a four-hour gap between the bands I wanted to see. And that four-hour gap was filled with schmaltzy Garth Brooks soundalikes.
Having said that, there's something on in my area next week where Leonard Cohen, Morrisey and...gasp...the Stooges are all playing consecutive nights at a local venue. I've already got my ticket for the Stooges, and Stiff Little Fingers are opening for them, so I'm pretty psyched about it really!

Ottawa BluesFest usually has awesome acts. I live in Ottawa, so at the very least I think I will go see the Tragically Hip when they come around.

We have our local Diversa Fest which has a few MAJOR bands and of course the local ones. Of course my favorite local band is not attending, only a few like Colourmusic, Congress of a Crow, and Callupsie (lots of Cs).

I will probably go to the Paramore concert, though I can't say I'm exactly thrilled about it (going with a friend). I'll also check out Zappa Plays Zappa probably for the sake of ZAPPA being in the name. I confess, I don't have any real plans of who I ought to see, so someone should recommend anything they think is good in this list!

I saw Flogging Molly the other week, and they were incredible. Such a great gig. Everyone was well up for it.
