I guess I'm not very picky, but the framerate didn't ever bother me at all. Sure it wasn't always fluid but

damn, it was hot.

It was a minor annoyance for me, though I only played by myself and(rarely) a friend would play with me.

Doom by far was my favorite old school. Of the "newer" FPS's, I always like CS (most people do) and Goldeneye is my classic right there. Playing the crap out of that game for a couple summers after it came out.

There was this Chex cereal FPS that came in one of the cereal boxes. It was so rad.

N-not that it comes as a big surprise, but for anyone who didn't know or who likes to skim a lot, Chex Quest was built off of
the doom engine. Never played it personally, only because it looks... well horrible.

Interesting topic... I think it's really hard to choose a favourite FPS game though.
