This will probably be a toggle imo.
I doubt that is the kind of the thing they would make toggle. Why would they have an option with no critical information. The point I was getting at is that new non elite monsters don't have resistances like they should (in hell and nightmare I am talking).

That was the character sheet, it works like in WoW basically or whatever. Character sheet with your currently equipped items & stats, and inventory elsewhere.
no it wasn't. The character sheet has character stats and the place to spend status points. That was most definitely an equipment screen, and it only showed wearable items so I am assuming they split it up with tabs for equipable and non equipable. This is dumb, old inventory system was a lot better.

It was just a bright area, D2 had them too.
I was talking about cathedral level, which is a dungeon, which was very bright. There are 0 bright dungeons in other diablo games.

Loot dropped in that vid, so idk what you're talking about? He didn't hold down the alt key a lot though.
Barely any dropped man, do you even remember playing d2? I am starting to think you never played............

It's not REVOLUTIONARY or anything. I mean the guy in the gameplay vid acts like it though. "OH MAN THEY'LL BE COMPANIONS FOREVER NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO THEM... OH SHIT DID THAT PROGRAMMED WALL JUST FALL ON THEM!!!"
It is not supposed to be revolutionary. Look at wow, it wasn't revolutionary, it was just very well made and very polished. It brought a lot of life into the mmorpg genre. Blizzard makes games that are extremely polished and extremely playable. Think of all the shitty diablo clones that came and went, meanwhile people are still playing d2. So, in diablo 3 I expect to have a game that is very playable and a lot of fun, something that will last another 7 years.

o

that didn't seem that bright, but iirc its a destroyed cathedral, so this makes sense, maybe???

Well compared to D2 yeah but I'm pretty sure that was because LIMITED TIME, LOOT NOT FINALIZED, etc. I mean, the chest drops a full set of armor to speed it up. Loot does drop though, the boss etc all drop it. I am pretty sure they wouldn't change this!! (like 99.999999999999999999% sure.)

QFT.

There's even a still sizeable community playing WarCraft 2 even after all these years.

Wow, this game looks pretty beautiful and from the low poly count obviously doesn't need anything higher than a 6600 to run it on high settings. I always find it amazing how with the notable exception of WoW and Warcraft III Blizzard games look nice and run really well at the same time, even though I really hate the cartooniness (though this doesn't have it!).

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

This actually looks pretty good. I never played D2 but I did have the original, in FACT I think I will download D2 now in anticipation for this because it does look pretty sweet.

This is one of the greatest moments of my life.

Though I am worried that they said it's going to be simple gameplay. I would want more variety than the last installment.

cool

but seriously Blizzard stop taking like 1000 years to make one game

I'm more excited about SCII than this, actually. And they won't let me see the trailer and gameplay vids  for DIII because I'm not...old enough? Is Diablo rated Adult now, or do I just fail? I probably just fail. Fuck.

i know a lot of people like that. :(

idk, i think if diablo was like BRIGHT BRIGHT all the time it wouldn't be as good. It's definitely part of the atmosphere. There was a few bright areas in D2 (Act 2, Act 4 (or was it 5?))

yeah i agree with you there, it is definitely part of the atmosphere, it's just that i can't stand that type of atmosphere

Who actually puts their real age in there anymore?
I am way more pumped for SC2 than this, but I'm just happy there's actually going to be a 3rd one. It should have been obvious after SC2, though.
My guess is they will make multiple expansions since you will most likely be playing this game online for free.

i liked diablo a lot when i was younger.  it is pretty one-dimensional but idk it never really tried to be anything more than that, and i just kind of dug MINDLESS PC RPG.  it was p repetitive though so i don't know how much i'd be able to enjoy it now.  still, this might be fun!

It should have been obvious when blizzard demanded that fansite to hand over the diablo3 domain name a few months ago.

yeah okay i just watched the GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE or w/e and it actually looks pretty uninteresting.  maybe i will still play it because if you watch someone playing the first two, they both look pretty goddamn uninteresting too, but yeah.  i have no idea why you guys are like OHGOD!!! *CUMS IN PANTS* over what appears to be another completely generic pc dungeon crawler!  even the visuals aren't wildly interesting.

seriously i am always astounded by the shit that ends up getting RABID COVERAGE from gaming sites/magazines.

Well mate, this is what I was saying too and handsome lamb said that Diablo's appeal is in how polished it and how it has a deeper level of customization, apparently. I don't know because I got tired of Diablo 2 pretty quickly but that's how it is with WoW, pretty much. Then again, I still can't see Diablo being as interesting as something like WoW because multiplayer or not, I don't see Diablo being anything else than hacking your way through fuckloads of enemies and that's all the trailer was.

The stat/skill/item/build metagame is pretty big in Diablo. As is trading/ item hunting. Regardless of what you find interesting... this aspect of the game kept a pretty large chunk of players playing the game consistently online for years on end.

I tried to play Diablo 2 a year ago but I couldn't get into it at all. It was just too dated................... I don't know why but I've had the same feeling with Fallout 2. Now that the formula is getting updated I guess that could help me enjoy the diablo franchise more.

yeah I mean that's there too for sure, but any way you slice it you're a barbarian//sorcerer//who even fucking cares running through a dank undead-infested dungeon using the same moves on like hundreds of enemies at the time.  I GUESS it's polished but is POLISH really enough to make a game good?  a boring, repetitive game is what it is, polish or not.  there's a decent amount of customization in diablo and that's good but yeah, I guess I just don't agree that polish/stat management somehow takes a mediocre, one-note dungeon crawler from uninteresting to OHGOD AMAZING!
