I've never actually played Chrono Trigger, so this is my chance to experience everyone else's memories. I'm pretty pumped, but not about the 40$ price tag. Oh well, I guess. As long as it's a good game!

It's at times like these I'm glad I have an R4DS. I can understand those wanting to buy it, some people like collecting and owning the games, and adding Chrono Trigger to your collection isn't a bad thing, although it is supporting shittyness. I see and understand things from both sides.

I can see both sides of this as well, but seriously $40 is too much. I'm glad I have an R4. You could say this is for the fans who want nothing changed, but that's a pretty bad argument. There are tons of things they could have touched up on while still keeping it true to the fans, instead of just adding a new dungeon.

This is the stupidest argument ever. Like, shoving opinions down everyone's throats is not only a) what people do in general but b) you're kinda doing it too by shoving your opinion that people can buy whatever they want and to get over it down his.

if you think something is wrong (like say, porting a game when all they did is take a rom, put it on a cartridge, and hack it a bit to have a new dungeon (yes it is really that easy, and many people have done things like this) and put it on a cartridge (this takes all of like one month or less btw) and making it priced at 40 USD))), you talk out about it. it's a forum for christs sakes.

If you want to go waste 40$ on a game that is not only:
a) the worst port out of every port they've done so far content wise
b) doesn't even have any new graphics what-so-ever
c) doesn't add new story
e) just adds 1 fucking dungeon.
and most importantly:
f) takes less than 1 month to make and just hacked a ROM to do it anyways and put it on a cartridge for 40$ (hint: they are making insane profit off of one sale compared to every other game out there (even the other ports))

then by all means, you go do it.

There is no real reason to buy this game. If you think buying this game will encourage SE to make a new Chrono game or something, you are an idiot. Look at the Final Fantasy ports. People bought it. Guess what happened? More ports. Look at FF7. People bought all the shitty games they released (fucking Dirge of Ceberus etc.). Guess what happened? Final Fantasy Advent Children 2. YEAH THATS TOTALLY A REMADE FF7 or a NEW FF7 game that doesn't suck.

Unless if they are making a new Chrono game already (possible with the NP scan of a white sword...), this isn't going to affect them on making one at all. All it is doing is ferreting money to them that basically says, "Hi. I'm a loyal customer who is an idiot and likes to buy anything no matter how much I actually need it. Please remake this game a year from now with NEW CHARACTER GRAPHICS and a pile of shit in the box for 60$ for the Wii. Thanks!"

Sales figures for this game will probably exceed the sales for the original SNES release, which is depressing.

I just figured out a way to save yourself $40 and still experience the new game.  Get no$gba and the rom for this game.  Play on your computer.  If you don't want to replay the game for the Xth time then get a savestate from somewhere and just play the new dungeon.  Exact same game, $40 cheaper.
