No way man. Sage is pretty terrible. Eh. Like I used to dig him a lot and he has some good lyrics here and there but overall is pretty lame and ungroovin etc.

Ok wait ungroovin is the totally wrong word. I dont know why i said ungroovin. But basically i hate that he does the whole hip hop metalyricism thing (i am a rapper and here i am rapping in case you didnt know im a rapper and i am totally dope etc) which really bugs me and kinda befouls a lot of his intellectual worth.

Ok yeah its not that hes ungroovin that was the wrong word.

i mean, i find that HEH IM DA BEST thing annoying too, but i think a certain amount of machismo is endemic in all of hip hop culture. i definitely don't really hold it against the mc if his songs have actual substance. it is one thing to think some bum who talks about nothing but how many women he fucks///cars he owns and how awesome he is in general is irritating, but i don't think sage is really all that huge an offender. a lot of his lyrics are either introspective (and not in the MAN I RULE way) or observant. that song ds posted has like nothing to do with him! i dunno, i never really got that out of his music, i guess.

Yeah the point I raised was really pretty much a sheppoint because on a whole, I don't think I like actual hip hop. I like music that raps, but kinda hate a lot of hip hop culture (metalyricism (i feel so intellectual saying that am i smart?)). There are a few guys out there that tell some great stories and do some really sick stuff languagewise but without going UNH UNH YEAH LEMME GET ONE MORE VERSE (sage does not do this I was thinking of aesop here) and doin all the dumb hsit.
