the wanting comes in waves is easily the best song on the new decemberists. it's a good album but i doubt it will convert any haters. i prefer the crane wife.

i kinda liked the crane wife but uh, parts of it annoyed me. idk what i'd fall it but the TONE/AESTHETIC of it grated on me after a while. i would call it like quasi-folk or something idk??? like yankee bayonet especially

I really liked the decemberists but the more I listened to them the more annoyed i became at them and now i pretty much can't listen to the crane wife anymore, i'm gonna have to try this new album

it was upbeat too, is what it was. it was like upbeat folk. it just gave me a fucking headache. it was like the audible version of those old technicolor shows you get sick from watching

yeah dude I get sick of them quick too but thats why you only listen to them in moderation. I love me some decemberists though and the singer in that song is really badass and its more "rock" sounding and not very upbeat sounding at all.

I don't even want to say the decemberists got heavier but thats kind of what it sounds like.
