code 46 eh? it was ok, but didn't really do it for me. there were nice shots and all (from memory) but it couldn't always keep my attention.
damn it, i wanted to see that movie. my parents saw it and kind of liked it, but were all "what's with this guy?? HUH????" but it sounds dope.
yeah it was kind of on the dull side, like all of his movies are, but i feel like that is a certain aesthetic he's going for. he seems like kind of a REALISTIC sort of director (multiple other movies of his look almost like documentaries), so he probably leans towards making things seem incredibly true to life regardless of how engaging they are. anyway what i dug about the movie was that like you said i thought there were a lot of really good shots and i enjoyed the cinematography in general. like remember the scene early on in the club, with the strobe light, that just went on for two minutes? also i thought the premise/plot in general was sort of cool and pretty good for a sci-fi movie, but mostly i really liked the interaction between robins and... whoever the female lead was. i guess i could see why you'd be bored by it but there was a lot about it i was into at the time.
what was kinda gay in hindsight was the SPEAKING MULTIPLE LANGUAGES thing. it is probably pretty realistic that that would happen ultimately but like... if you can't implement it into the film in any realistic way, i kind of think you should just leave it out.
