They're alright, but they're definitely no Three Six Mafia!

SIKE: I can't stand this kind of sappy shit. No groove, rigid & awkward as hell, and completely bland. These guys sound exactly like crap you'd hear in a mall store music system right in between Thursday, Incubus, and Hoobastank tracks.

I thought the first album, Juturna, was all about his overcoming his drug addiction. :\

I dunno, I don't like it when people quote lyrics out of context so we can all go HAR HAR LOOK AT THIS. I mean you can probably try to find good lyrics to post up randomly but if you want to find shit lyrics you can just search the lyrics of pretty much any band and find something that sounds stupid and post it up.

That said Death Cab don't have great lyrics, but if you're in the soft/sappy mood they can be pretty satisfying. I don't think as a whole they're a particularly challenging group so I wouldn't expect anything that goes against that. It's all easy to digest sap mixed with heavy handed metaphors.

Huge fan of Circa Survive, and The Sound of Animals Fighting is like art to me.  Their first live cd was pretty out there, but very good and one of the most interesting live performances I've ever seen.
Current Work: Man of The Wild
Genre: Survival Sim

I guess compared to most mainstream bands these guys are a LITTLE out there musically, so maybe they are good because they are a gateway drug into more experimental music?

i like their music. i love anthony green in the sound of animals fighting, especially.

as far as his legit band goes, my parents actually love circa survive. i bought my mom their new album not too long ago.

yeah no. remember how everyone said Harry Potter was going to inspire a whole new generation of readers and then none of them read a thing after the last book came out?

bad underground music works the same way.

goons lol.

nah just people I ran into in college. knew a girl who wouldn't listen to tom waits because I THINK MY DAD HAS A CD BY HIM but conversely had every yellowcard cd and was anticipating the next eagerly.

I think if you are INTO MUSIC you invariably create some degree of taste, but if you don't really get into music and basically your music collection is a bunch of singles, then its likely you're gonna like shitty things.

god im not good wiht words today!!!

basic point is that assuming SLIGHTLY BETTER MUSIC will eventually open the person up to good music is fallacious for the same reason marijuana as a gateway drug or harry potter as a reading revolution is flawed; they LIKE whatever the gateway is, they don't necessarily want anything better (better than weed??????)
