Of course, a lot of us are aware of this fact. But they have so much good music. I went to see them back in April and they put on a hell of a show. I'm excited for Ursa Major to come out.

I think they are okay...they have some good songs, that I listen to from time to time. I wouldn't call them the shit but they aren't shit either.

well i don't think the point here is that they're very well known, since no one on this forum ever talks about them. it is more that they are completely unremarkable/unambitious. that doesn't fit with the beatles at all, obviously. like steel said, it is just this nonthreatening guitar rock stuff. rowain and i were talking about why neither of us could tolerate coldplay in more than small, periodic doses a couple hours ago, so it's funny this topic should pop up, since they basically have the same problem!

Man, Third Eye Blind was like my favorite band throughout the 90's. Jumper is an absolutely fantastic song. Beyond about 5 of their songs, their songwriting gets pretty stale, though I really enjoy those 5 songs a lot.

Man, what do you guys have against weezer? I think they have a pretty sweet retro 50s or something vibe with the harmonies and I actually dig his voice a lot. I don't like pinkerton or really any of the newer stuff, but I like the green album, blue album and maladroit a lot.

<edit> Also whats the whole "inoffensive" bit being tossed around. Do you just mean unchallenging musically? Non-innovative? boring etc?

I dunno who else said it but I meant that it's not like, offensive music. like nickelback I would say is offensive. it's the difference between music you don't even hear when it's playing and music you can't stand

yeah inoffensive is a way of saying music is something you dont necessarily like, but if someone you're with puts it on you wont demand that they change it because it is god awful like you would if it was Nickelback.
