dom what the fuck man. you keep championing REALLY BAD THINGS. like first off
* The Octave Doctor is gay
kaworu is 100% right. this shit is taken from comic books and somehow unbelievably DUMBED DOWN basically manchildren books (I've never seen it but panda has brought up the numerous flaws). for fuck's sake both DC and Marvel just had a POWERS LOST arc (in 52, the main three being gone, and obviously the Decimation in Marvel). this really isn't up for debate, he's completely right, comics did everything Heroes has done! if you want to try and argue this go ahead but between kaworu and myself we've got an obscene amount of comics knowledge.
the only speculative part is if the plot taking was intentional or not, but does that really matter? the fact remains an existing medium has covered all this shit years ago, the chances of none of the Heroes writers ever picking up a comic book are slim (especially since Heroes has its own six page comic book). and more importantly:
or mark because i(the viewer of heroes) know more about how the show works than the writers do
so the writers are sutpid
absolutely no one thinks this show has gone up in quality other than you. oh no! mark made a joke that they plot this shit out on napkins. lets focus on how thats probably factually inaccurate instead of the fact the show really has seemed like a rush job for the past two seasons (once again I've never seen it and even I know this because EVERYONE says it). here's wikipedia with the creator admitting several aspects of the show have been poorly handled:
Additionally, the second season of Heroes was criticized by commentators and fans for a much slower pace, less engaging storyline and lack of focus compared to the first season. Milo Ventimiglia stated that "when there's a little bit of a delay, there's not that instant, rewarding scene or moment or episode… people get impatient, so it has been extremely important for them to strike a balance between giving and getting."[107]
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Heroes creator Tim Kring commented on criticisms of season two, and the series' 15% decline in ratings.[11] Kring said that he felt he had made mistakes with the direction of season two. He had thought that the audience was looking for a "build-up of characters and the discovery of their powers", in contrast to season one, when viewers were instead looking for "adrenaline."
Kring also outlined what he felt were problems with plot development, stating that the second season "took too long to get to the big-picture story", explaining that Peter's vision of the viral armageddon should have occurred in the first episode instead of the seventh. He feels that it would have been better to introduce new characters within the context of the main storyline, as with Elle, rather than in unattached arcs such as that of Maya and Alejandro. Kring also admitted that he should have resolved the "Hiro in Japan" storyline much more quickly, and that the romantic stories are not working well. With regards to Claire and West, and Hiro and Yaeko, he said, "I've seen more convincing romances on TV. In retrospect, I don't think romance is a natural fit for us."[11]
if thats not enough, isn't it true like two characters have DIED AND COME BACK TO LIFE within less than three seasons of the show? I know one character was thought dead but surprise was just in a coma for a year. you really think this is just a well plotted masterpiece instead of just a flowchart of events with "FILL THIS IN LATER- KRING" written on it?
mateui,
you watch survivor religiously
we all know he does this and it's very funny but lets face it its not the best comparison. survivor is at least SUPPOSED to be unscripted (leaks have suggested that almost no reality show is though), while you can criticize him for liking a dumb show, it doesn't invalidate his criticism of a show run in a completely different manner. he's not dissing TOP CHEF or another reality program, what does his love of Survivor prove other than he likes bad reality tv? I like almost any cooking program on TV, even shit like Hell's Kitchen, but it doesn't mean I can't say "jesus prison break sucked last night".
