i kind of take back my post a little earlier. it's just that i haven't been put in that many real life situations where things like, overpower me. i remember a couple of years ago when my grandad died i listened to this song i recorded a while before when he was first put in hospital and it was kind of about him and at that point i shocked myself by having a big old ball. i dunno i think that is the stuff that makes trying in life really worth it in the end - not grandparents dying! - but to have those kind of moments every now and then where you can't take it in stride and you don't really want to cos it's all beautiful (and i tried very hard to think of another way of saying that). times when you are completely free of all the mundane shit and there's this glow to every thought that comes into your head. maybe this is a bit explotative but i dunno, i'm really shit at articulating this.

steel you should watch an episode of star trek deep space nine called "the visitor". i know how that sounds! but i think you would really like it judging by the post you made. everyone should watch that episode if you are remotely interested in doing so. that episode had me going over and over again. star trek! for pete's sake!!!

i haven't cried since i was ripped from my mother's womb and the doctor slapped my ass but the tears instantly transformed into knives and stabbed in the face.

once every two weeks probably and only when i get into really bad fights with my girlfriend because our relationship is a mess.

also during the scene in hotel rwanda when the UN troops turn back the busload of children i bawled like a baby for like 10 minutes

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

probably once, twice a year, but I usually get some tears over music or movies when I allow myself to, but only when I'm alone, for some reason I don't like to cry around people, unless it's my bf.
ah, but this year I'ce cried more, but it was because something in particular.

Some scenes in movies make me teary-eyed but I don't remember actually crying in a very long time.

I have become very desensitised to sadness in general because I experience it a lot just as background noise. It's only when I am in the doctors or something and they're asking me the awkward questions that I actually cause thats like a flood gate mechanism. All the rest of the time I just get angry instead.

i get teary eyed in most heartwarming scenes in movies. sometimes its just a little choked up, sometimes if its a good scene ill let it turn into a short cry. it just feels good, you know?

whenever i have troubles with women or whatever, i get a nice cry usually while listening to something sad or emotional (i like that scene in the US Office where michael is sad and is listening to that preview clip of a coldplay song or something... yeah i do that sometimes) and then i feel tons better.

crying is super healthy and if you can let go and not be like "damn man i am crying thats hella gay" *wipes tears, grunts* then it feels really good to have a cry sometimes.
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

the only thing that can make me cry is music and physical pain

I think the last time I really got jerked up was when I got a contusion in my shin from running into a diving board or something lol

If by crying you mean drinking like an idiot in a filthy pub, complaining and smoking cigarettes then yes I do that a lot nowadays.

seriously though well made movie scenes and my shitty life reguralry makes me teary.

I cry pretty frequently. unlike everyone here who says ONLY AT REAL EVENTS, the things that get me are little things. anytime a show or movie has a scenes where a father says "I'm always proud of you" or whatever, it kind of kills me inside. then there are a lot of days when it hits me how unfair some shit is, that someone like elliott smith can spend his whole life doing nothing but writing songs and it's not enough
Man.  I thought I was the only one who has this.  I actually don't really cry but I need to forcefully restrain myself from doing so.

Whatever it is, I basically cry at the same type of stuff that you mention.  It's just the IDEA of it all.  Even BAD TV SHOWS sometimes yield this reaction, maybe because of the idea that this sort of thing really does happen.  The article you linked to the other day about the death penalty was the same.

couple times a year

I'd always cry when talking to someone about my depression and how it made me feel. beyond that I think I've only cried during movies when it's about family, family stuff really gets to me. I'm getting teary-eyed right now just thinking about it. I love my family!!

pidge I don't think he was criticizing you, I think it was supposed to be more of a strangelove story style 'jesus christ you deal with that'

I haven't "cried" full-on since I felt really sick one day last year... I think I had a fever of 103 and I was just really frustrated. I shed a tear or get choked up during some scenes in movies and sometimes during a really beautiful song.

But yeah, don't often have those terribly depressing moments too often. Probably overdue for one, actually.

EDIT: Oh wait my cat died last year, I cried a bit a few times around that time.

Man.  I thought I was the only one who has this.  I actually don't really cry but I need to forcefully restrain myself from doing so.

This is how I usually react to really touching media.  I have had to hold back tears because of art several times that I can remember.  Most recently it was during the second movement of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G at the Minnesota orchestra - that is a really amazing piece of music.

Otherwise  the last time I really cried was when I performed an extremely inappropriate sex act on an unsuspecting girl who was afraid to stop me.  I felt like such a slime when she told me how uncomfortable I made her!

But I don't think I cry very often.  Maybe about 10 times in my life?  I am emotionally moved pretty easily but I can choke back tears like a big boy.
