You owe it to yourself to watch the tv series. You'll fall in love with the show and then be devastated once you run out of episodes to watch. It's kind of a bittersweet experience. Whedon's best work I'd say.

it probably is joss whedon's best show, but he's crud. buffy and angel had a thing going for me for a while but going back and watching them now, it's was always pretty bad. putting aside all the obvious plotting and characterization and stupid choices of direction, alot of the time the messages was even pretty bogus. joss whedon is a guy who thinks feminism means women are spunky and that's pretty much it. you'd probably need to see dollhouse and some stuff in angel to realise he never actually gave a fuck and just came up with a gimmicky idea that worked out well for once -

and if you take out that, there isn't really much to root for in the shows. MAYBE. it's all friggin maybe. i'd probably need to go and watch the whole thing again to be sure but i don't wanna cos his shows are crappy. good job on making a bunch of shows about 40 white or as close to it as possible people with the exact same sense of humour poorly imitating a bunch of different genres every week, josh.

Firefly is pretty easy to torrent?  and since it's only one season long its pretty cheap on DVD too.

It's also the only television series that Joss has done that is remotely close to being worth watching.

I got it around Christmas (forget if it was right before or right after) on sale at Walmart on Bluray for HELLA cheap.  On regular DVD it's always cheap and on Bluray it's still p. cheap even at its regular price as long as you're buying it from somewhere like Walmart instead of somewhere like Best Buy.
