I want to see more post-apocalyptic Children of Men-esque movies... with good endings tho.

EDIT:  oh, and i just watched snatch, sweetest bare-knuckle punch i've ever seen in a movie

It sucks when directors like Aronofsky realize they're famous, then get decent budgets for their films.  The Fountain was like those poems you read by college students that mean a lot to them, but very little to anyone other than them.  Also that movie was really really short.

Have you seen Children of Men?  I really didn't like the ending.  So I would like to see a good ending, not happy in the happy sense.

yeah sorry this is still GENERIC FANTASY IMAGE as a shot. idk when i think visually interesting it's gotta be more than GAME CONCEPT ART, and the movie was...game concept art. the entire movie was this. Mr D. shoots a movie, forgets its a movie.

just saw the new Xmen. it was okay. it was definitely better than the 3rd xmen movie, but thats honestly not saying much. i loled in the beginning when young wolverine yelled though, it was really funny. some of the special effects were a bit lame, like wolverines claws LOOKED REALLY FAKE in a few scenes. theres really no excuse for that in this day and age, tbh. people could do better jobs in fuckin photoshop.

Deadpool was really cool though. the secret ending i got was

Wait, are there multiple endings in multiple theaters?  That's kinda cool.

The ending was shot after the movie was finished, I think it's because they needed a way to reel in the people that had already seen the workprint.

I just saw King Kong, which I thought was pretty good. I think Jack Black is a pretty decent actor when he's not being playing stupid.
Also the scene with the bugs is liable to give me nightmares.

I've been going through the Wong Kar Wai films, love them all so much. They're just so, beautiful... I don't know how else to describe them really.

I just finished Chungking Express yesterday, has a fantastic cast, Tony Leung is the bomb. I'm watching Fallen Angels now.

EDIT: Wow this movie is so fucking beautiful christ

The first hour of King Kong was a total waste of time.  The boat trip was so boring, and could have been cut down significantly.  After King Kong finally shows up, the movie gets way more awesome.  Jack Black was awesome though.

I also liked King Kong, but yeah the whole "romance with the monkey" thing was a bit too heavy for me to be able to swallow, and the movie could definietly have been cut down, especially in that first hour.

uh they dont save him keep watching.

i saw sunshine cleaners. i mean its not bad but its not good either. it is exactly like every novel foer writes. there's even PROBABLY a reference to extremely close, the kid is horribly precocious and named oskar which is in itself a reference to the tin drum according to foer but yeah it was just absurdly indie and it aggravated me.

THE WORST THING THOUGH; they are remaking pelham 123.

i just saw battle royale. it was kind of stupid, and a little silly-anime-ish, but it was really disturbing on a sort of visceral level. it's essentially an action movie about 16 year olds killing each other so it was very cringe-inducing in many parts, mostly because it was fairly well-written and the acting was pretty good! it was somewhat good social commentary because i guess normally when you watch something violent on tv/movies you don't think HOLY JESUS HE JUST KILLED A GUY THAT'S AWFUL but almost every time someone in this film died it was unsettling on more than 'well that was violent' level.

kitano was a really effective and well-written villain even if his backstory was more than a little shoddy. he was a scary guy!

i dunno. i liked it a decent amount. i wouldn't say it's a CLASSIC though! i wonder if the original japanese dialogue was slightly better/worse or about equivalent.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

Volcano High, which is this horrible live action anime movie, bought by mtv and voiced by method man, snoop and a bunch of rappers. It's terrible in a hundred ways, but I loved it.
