Just came back from Easy A which I'm not ashamed to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed. It felt like Mean Girls v. 2.0 - an upgrade. I don't usually laugh at comedies but I did actually laugh a lot during this one.

saw this movie called click. now i know it didn't do too well on the big screen but i liked how they combined humor with drama. there were moments in the movie where i laughed out and there were moments where i felt sad for the character.

silly concept though, you don't need a remote to fast forward through your life. you're fast forwarding through your life as it is, you're lucky if you notice.

well i might have seen it unintentionally. i don't remember seeing something literally called a christmas carol. last year i just watched the grinch with some family. i also saw this superhero-christmas esque movie starring arnold schwarzenegger called jingle bells all the way or something.

i don't always watch christmas movies at christmas though

Last weekend some friends and I got together and watched Sharktopus on SyFy.  I realized that cheesy SyFy movies aren't as good when they know they're cheesy.

Then we got on Hulu and watched a Troma movie called Rabid Grannies, which (surprisingly?) also sucked.

Then we finally popped in an 80's horror movie called House, and it was pretty sweet.  Classic 80's puppetry stuff and some nice Lovecraft imagery (reminds me of the end of In the Mouth of Madness).

never seen it's a wonderful life? really?

hmm

watched:
that owl movie: legend of the whatevers: it was not very good. pretty to look at but it stopped there. THUMBS DOWN
the town: other than the title "the town" always reminding me of frisky dingo, it was pretty good. better than gone baby gone which was overrated, but the town was okay. it wasn't great, but it was good. THUMPS MEDIUM UP

This is what I was thinking too.

I might be able to understand not seing "It's a wonderful life" but you seriously haven't seen A Christmas Carol? You know... like Scrooge and the ghost of Christmas Past and stuff? Ringing any bells?

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, I just cannot fathom how you haven't seen any version of A christmas Carol.

i am watching ben-hur.

edit: INTERMISSION. maybe it is the combined effect of one million parodies or maybe i've just missed it but this film is more intense / not as long and plodding than it is given credit for nowadays. also this guy they keep talking about seems like a nice guy, i wonder who he is

okay, time for act II

yeah, the chariot chase scene is still a really exciting sequence. haven't seen the movie other than that part for at least a decade now, though.
