Don't get disheartened by whipes is all I can say! Find a strategy that works, don't listen to all the bullshit that people will say (ie "we must do it this way because xxxxx guild that I have friends in does it like that and they have in on farm!!"), and stick to the strategy that works for you and keep practising until hes down.

I know of plenty of guilds that have died because of either this guy or vael, just with lootwhores not showing up for BWL so theres only like 30 in the raid, so if you start getting attendance issues start being ruthless and putting only the attendees at BWL on the list for Onyxia etc.

Yeah. Our best attempt (we did like 5-ish) we had only 6 eggs left. Basically the strategy we're using: Put 2 groups into each corner and have them kill the mages immediatly as they spawn. Hunters kite the dragonkin while the shamans kite the legionares. Druids sleeping, etc.

Right now what we need to work on is Shamans getting better heals. Meh, it was a rough night, but if we get our kiters more heals we could fight Razore next time!

Man that's so true. When the guild I was in was doing him, we would sometimes wipe like eight times before we got him down. So of course all the raid eladers were saying BLAH BLAH (BIG NAME GUILD) DOES THIS SO WE SHOULD DO THAT. We even brought the MT from one of the top Alliance guilds onto our Ventrilo to talk us through it (though apparently he was rl friends with everyone so it wasn't like we were PAYING him or something).

In the end? We just found what worked best for our hunters. Once they got kiting down, he went on farm.

Its pretty much a walk in the park once the eggs are down, basically Drakkisath but untauntable. Allow a bit of time for aggro gain on the tanks then just slap him.

But like Rowain said, most of our wipes were due to the "i've done this before" people spamming us with strategies that didn't fit our playstyles. In the end we used 2 warriors to gather up all the dragonkin and kite them over the platforms, hunters to kite the melee orcs while the rest killed the mages. Overall its easily the most enjoyable encounter I've done so far in the game, especailly as I was the one that got to control Razorgore  ​. If your getting down to like 4 eggs and its falling apart there getting your controller to use razor's fireball AoE to pull all the mobs to him will give enough time to finish it off as long as people use frost nova's and fears etc

Also, is it a pretty common tactic to have shamans and hunters kite the legos/dragons? Just seems like its a waste of healing (not to mention DPS) seeing as a warrior in full tanking gear is going to have a lot more mitigation. And I'm pretty sure dropping Earthbinds over and over isn't too mana efficient.

Meh. We drop the mages like stones, unless you're reffering to losing DPS on any other mobs, because from what I've heard DPS on legionares/dragons is a lost cause.

Earthbinds are unfortunetly useless, because as soon as they're dropped one of the mobs will destory it
