thinking he was being visited by spirits
he still thinks this.  if anything he is MORE spiritual/superstitious now; it's ridiculous.  ordinarily i would just call him dumb but with frusciante i kind of like it.  it is endearing or something.

well now there's just no excuse for it and is kinda corny... which explains this bullshit:

ahaha i dunno man.  it's definitely corny but i think after being addicted to heroin for like eight years you probably can't help but become kind of a weird person.  he is so sincere about it that it comes off more idk, AFFABLE.  like when i meet people like this in life i am usually like LOL WHAT AN IDIOT but for some reason with him i just like him more every time he mentions THE SPIRITS.............

theres a vid on youtube somewhere with him talking about how maybe keidis named the album stadium arcadium because the spirits sent him the word "arcanum" and he got mixed up

I don't listen to his stuff enough to really be able to interpret it but I kind of take his music as really lighthearted and free spirited, thats why it really appeals to me. Its really happy and fun sounding (Shadows collide with people only, I haven't really gotten into his other stuff yet).

And thats nothing like christian rock, christian rock is sickening and deluded, I don't see frusciante's stuff as concentrating on god or any sort of religion more so than just spirituality. which is pretty cool.

Man, you throw some "jesus" "lord" or "savior" in that song and it sounds just like those christian rock bands you see playing concerts on christian tv at like 3am

Every time somebody starts to discuss about RHCP or Fruscinate i get incredibly embarrased because i have so much mixed feelings of the band. There are a lot of people who vow to them and say that Fruscinante is incredible/has so much emotion/spritual thing in his playing. On the other hand, i hear songs like Under the Bridge/Californication/Tell me Baby/By the Way in the radio and i find them plain & pop and rambling. I don't feel or find anything new from their songs.

I keep telling myself that "it's just their most popular songs, i'm sure there are some good stuff there... " but then i listen to Fruscinante's work Ryan linked in the guitar topic (it's... so emotional...) and i look blank at the screen and desperately try to figure out what is so emotional or amazing in his solos!
The impression gets even more contradictory as i listen to Fruscinante's songs from his solo-albums and it sounds like something recorded in a basement on a hill (eehehhehe...i hope this reference worked...) with a 4-track recorder. It sounds incredibly experimental (no problem with this) but... again i am looking for hints and signs of brilliance.
I understood that RHCP/Fruscinante is a pretty big influence of Guana's so... i don't know what to think.

I'm gonna end this post in a gay, rambling way and say that THERE HAS TO BE GOOD STUFF THERE so i'll just keep being contraditory until i listen to their/Fruscinante's stuff.
Of course you guys could make this work easier and link some good songs from the guys......................heh...

also sorry for horrible, horrible english

Friends and Fans,

The Empyrean is my new record and will be released worldwide via Record Collection on January 20th 2009. It was recorded on and off between December 2006 and March 2008. It is a concept record that tells a single story both musically and lyrically. The story takes place within one person, and there are two characters. It contains a version of Tim Buckley's, 'Song To The Siren' and the rest of the songs are written by me. My friend Josh plays on it, as does Flea. It also features Sonus Quartet, Johnny Marr and The New Dimension Singers. I'm really happy with it and I've listened to it a lot for the psychedelic experience it provides. It should be played as loud as possible and it is suited to dark living rooms late at night.

also, guys, John said that he doesn't believe in Jesus, dunno if he is into some religion, from what I read, I don't think he's into any.
He just believes in spirits, more like invisible forces that guides people around, which I get and I can even imagine myself in his position. I don't think he is stupid, Iand I can relate it with my very spiritual mother (she doesnt believe in a religion, just in superior forces).
I find the whole concept very cool, and I dig

I'm not saying he sounds like a christian, just that his boring upbeat acoustic crap sounds like every other self-empowering boring christian inspirational rock song

I'm looking forward to the Tim Buckley cover. I usually don't like covers of my favorite artists, but when another one of my favorite artists covers them it's exciting.

His website, www.johnfrusciante.com , which had been down for a long while, is now some sort of blog.

Man a blog is soooo much better than that old stupid site.

Hope he feels like updating it periodically, because John is not quite a consistent kind of guy I think.
