Just thinking about some older games that I had a blast playing years ago, and a part of me wishes that new games would be released in the series. Anyone else ever get this? Any, say, Uniracers fans (hahaha) begging for Uniracers 2? Basically, what older series would you like to see make a comeback?

Here are my two picks.

Battle Clash/Metal Combat

These games were the ONLY reason to own a Super Scope. Shut up, you know that all the other Super Scope games were useless pieces of garbage! But hey, not the Battle Clash games! I don't remember any console games like this from the SNES era where you could blast the shit out of enemy mechs in a first person sort of view. Knowing your enemy's weakness and being able to time your shots was absolutely key in these games. Also playing with a friend on two player (2P controlling the enemy mech) was always a hoot.
I'd love to see this come back. The Wii HAS the potential for it with all it's motion sensing gizmos, all of which put the Super Scope to shame. They could keep the same style or go for something totally different, ala Armored Core or Mechwarrior.
Regardless, I'd love to see this series make a return. These were the only two Super Scope games that did not feel half assed and were actually genuinely fun as hell to play. Nintendo, bring them back NOW.

Jet Moto

The three Jet Moto games were released over a four year timespan, I believe. The first two games were by Singletrac (makers of Twisted Metal) and the final one was by 989 Studios (coincidentally famous for destroying Twisted Metal).
Jet Moto 1 and 2 were among my favourite racing games ever. Jet Moto 3, not so much.. Maybe because a new developer made the game since 989 held the rights, but it was still Jet Moto so it held a spot in my heart.
But come on, any game that has you riding around on hover bike/jet ski hybrids and using some sort of laser guided grapple system to whip around corners has to be awesome, right? Right. There's a reason why Singletrac managed to make a Jet Moto 2. Because the first one was such a damn great racing experience (this applies to their Twisted Metal franchise as well).
Jet Moto has been dead for about 9 or 10 years now, which sucks, but.. Old Singletrac employees which worked on the first two games are part of a new studio which, interestingly enough, have said that they MIGHT make a new Jet Moto in the future. PS3 maybe? I'd sure hope so. They're already working on Twisted Metal again. They just need to pick up their other golden franchise (this one, Jet Moto) and resurrect it as well. I'd love to play a Jet Moto 4. That would make owning a PS3 worth every fucking penny that I spent on the thing (that's 7000 pennies).

Your turn.

If they could pull it off well. Commander Keen and Desert Strike/Jungle Strike/Urban Strike (Totally gonna play these when I get home, forgot all about having them until reading this topic).

All I would like(that I can think of) is a sequel to Mischief Makers from the n64.

Ecco. Not the 3d type.. but the 2d type. Those where fun and pretty unique as far as gameplay/ design goes.

I'm excited about the new twisted metal game they claim to be making... though I'm torn... as I don't have a PS3...

There are a few old games I'd like to see a sequel to, but because they don't have a sequel at all yet I can't call them series, but what ever I'd like to see a current generation iteration of them. I just want car combat to return, it is unfortunate the the average review of V8:Arcade is 'meh'... I might still get it though... its only 10 bucks.

I'd also like to see a sequel to Conker's Bad Fur Day... The remake was cool but not quite what I wanted...

I'd also like to see more Vandal Hearts games, but I still haven't played the sequel so I guess on that front I still have some game playing to do.

Future Cop L.A.P.D.

This game was incredibly fun to me. You played a unnamed cop who pilots the (a?) "X1-alpha" a police battle mech and you went around stopping super criminals from trying to do whatever super criminals do, usually by infiltrating their base. It didn't get fantastic scores (79% on game rankings) but I still though it was a really fun game on the Playstation. I loved playing the multiplayer mode "precinct assault" (which is actually in the screen shot) This game is apparently one of the games EA developed themselves that was actually good. I doubt this game will ever come back though... and its a shame...

Demolition Racer

Now, I understand that there are a bunch of games already out that are like this, games like Burnout (I own paradise) and Flatout(never tried any of them) but I want Demolition racer back because of its specific brand of the style of car crashing gameplay. Plus I remember this game just being really fucking fun...

There a few other games that I'd like to see return, but I don't remember them... I'll probably return to post them when I do...

Crusader

I would think abit like Darksector/Gears of war/Dead space, Over the shoulder shooter would fit it well.

Flashback/Fade to black

Something like drakes fortune could work for this game.

Hostile Waters

Alot more upgrades, alot more driveable shit, alot more places to fuck around with, make it abit like the old carrier command.

Aqauria reminded me a lot of Ecco, for obvious reasons. It felt almost like a spiritual sequel, and the story made about as much sense as either Ecco!

None. Any time a classic series gets resurrected it's always mismanaged and completely run into the ground by a bunch of idiots. The Metroid series is the perfect example of this.

this except with Shadowrun

Shadowrun should be revived and just deny the new version ever existed (like Incredible Hulks)

also Plok Soulblazer Blast Corps Landstalker Legend of Scheherazade Clayfighter Kung Fu Heroes and MARIO PAINT

also Uniracers but someone said that

also River City Ransom but some jerk would mess it up

I think part of the problem is that a lot of these games are pretty hard to explain why they're good, like Blast Corps had weird British sense of humor I guess and Soulblazer would be way too EPIC if they had released it today

I think the main problem today is the emphasis on making everything epic when most of these games really weren't half the time. What's so epic about LEVELS really

Dark Cloud 2 is basically Soul Blazer without the sense of humor.

I was going to mention a new Commander Keen game, but I think it would probably be in 3D, and a 3D version would be tricky to pull off correctly, if at all possible.

you are not recommending this fucking game.

whats so horrible is the plot is clearly made for children, as in REALLY YOUNG CHILDREN, but the game itself is pretty difficult for anyone under like 18.

it would be awful but i sometimes wish they'd make a new shining force game. i mean, they make games called shining force but i mean a game like shining force 2. it would be nice if it wasn't set in a generic fantasy land and terribly written, too. i've got a soft spot for that game cos it was a game my dad, my little brother and i played when i was young. i still play it every now and then, so do they. it's one of my latent goals to make a game which is similar in structure and feeling to shining force 2 but set in in modern times and about more than beating the demon. it's probably going to stay latent.

yesss bring blastcorps back, that game was awesome on the N64.

Also I remember some of the Darkcloud 2 puzzles being really hard when trying to arrange the cities in the correct way??
