some of the later fighting games had different ways to charge up your super bars and shit, a ism, v ism, etc, were the names of the ways.

I think black zombies adds something to this. Makes it scarier somehow

why did they choose to call them -isms instead of STYLES or STANCES or whatever else is beyond me

but uh

i think a is advanced, v is variable, and x is classic (ha ha makes a load of sense)

ugh i seriously don't get how they can dump this much money into a project and not hire a single writer that can make a story that makes sense

i don't mean good dialogue, i don't even mean one with a particularly good story even, i just mean a story that goes from point a to point b without making absolutely no sense whatsoever. the guy who writes these games must be 13.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

i remember there was a point in RE4 when the main character (can't remember his name too unmemorable) gets to a locked church door, and calls his superior on the radio saying 'I've reached a locked door.' and she responds 'So? Why are you telling me this? Didn't they teach you how to lockpick at Secret Service school or something?" and he just says "Heh!" in a kind of snarky tone and changes the subject, but it was obvious that the game wasn't making an ironic joke, but mostly that the writers actually didn't have an explanation for why the main character needed to battle his way through another 2 hours of monsters to find a key to a door when he has submachine guns, explosives, and the building has windows. and they brought it up purposefully for some reason.

it's pretty bad when all of your dialogue and plot is significantly worse than, say, the original Alone in the Dark or something.

I liked the dialogue in RE4 because it was so incredibly bad

I thought that was the reason for liking any of the games

Capcom even acknowledges the writing in the series is horrid

If you look at the RE collection for Ps2, one of the features is

"Enjoy tons of INCREDIBLE dialogue!!!"

If that isn't sarcasm there I don't know what is

i was always under the impression the dialog was supposed to be NOT GOOD. i think in the earlier games they certainly tried, but in something like RE4 it really seems to me they knew it was cheesy VIDEO GAME dialog. maybe i am giving them too much credit, but either way, i think the RE games always had a certain charm to them because of this.

I don't think this has been posted anywhere on the boards yet.  I can't wait until this game is finally released.  If it's at least as good as RE4, then it's going to keep me entertained for quite awhile.

I liked them too because even though they were ridiculous they were still pretty fun. But then with the last one it was just WAY too corny and they ruined it with the parasites, I actually thought that game was pretty shit.

Dammit! By spoiler I didn't think you meant that :(

My favorite part about the first RE game was the really shitty cutscenes and voice acting. Maybe that's just me.

But yeah switching from T-Virus zombies to mind controlling parasites was stupid.

I'll still play it 30+ times like I did all the other ones though

I still don't get people who say GOD DAMN NO MORE ZOMBIES

PARASITES? LAME

But, really, if you think about it, virus-induced zombies or parasite-induced slow evil people/niggers

what makes more sense

i mean the virus one only makes more sense to people because VIRUSES CREATING ZOMBIES has been used in sci-fi since like idk 1930 or whatever

but mind-controlling parasites

pfft

really re is just about some dude(s) being stuck having to solve something that makes people weird and dangerous on an epidemic scale

there's also shady dudes mixing politics and money into it oh boy

I'm still dissappointed at how they still haven't been able to add some strafing or dodging functions, yeah sure I could dodge by moving out of the way but adding strafing or something would make things so much easier. It seems that games nowadays don't focus much on the little things.

I think the concept of BIG ASS PARASITE IN HEAD is alot less threatening and scary as an invisible virus created by man that brings the dead back to life.

I mean I know those things were excavated or whatever but its still pretty dumb imo and I liked the virus stuff even more even though it was overused.

i cant believe how shitty the demo was.  its just resident evil 4 with a partner and even more retarded zombies
A conversation with my former boss from Sprint:
BOSS: Hey Jerry, I couldn't help but notice your desk is always so messy compared to everyone else.
ME: Well you know what they say. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
BOSS: *confused look* Uhm... wouldn't that mean you're further from God than the rest of us?
ME: *mischievous grin* Exactly!!!

Guys I can't launch the game it says "can't launch ....." and some japanese language and that is it.
EDIT: I had to disconnect from Xbox Live for it to work, my bad guys false alarm. It seems Microsoft was blocking me from running the demo. Thank god I can play now! Let's hope it is better than the videos that I have seen.

I downloaded this last night.
Resident evil 4 in Africa. Same animations, Same camera angles, Same Sounds, I mean fuck the Door even Splinters the same way. And chris still cant move and Fire. Level design feels the same, It looks pretty though.

I kinda Dig the new Inventory system. Going back old school/outbreak.
The Partner system is kinda just giving the schoolgirl a gun.

And i noticed Chris does strafe, just not really fast and not while you are aiming.

I laughed so hard at the bit where the zombies are ment to be Swarming from the hangman's noose in the cutscene. then when the game loads there is a trickle of two or three guys slowly climbing a fence.

I was hoping they were going for a bit more speed instead of making the character feel like a clunky Tank. Oh well, I'll still get it. but im not going to be happy about it. Cold Fear was a greater resident evil than resident evil 4
