true blood does some of this type of stuff, i sat down and watched it over christmas break and i was surprised by it, i thought it would be twilight-esque shit but it was actually fairly sensible for a SHOW ABOUT VAMPIRES
true blood is fucking awful

there was not enough material to rip them new ones before but now, now i can insult them most handily

true blood is really bad and i watched almost every episode of it. one of my friends is pretty into it now, i don't know how that happened. just to the point of being annoyed when the rest of us are making fun of it though, she's not going to read those shitty shitty books or anything.

fuck that girl in the videos is 21. i was thinking to myself that it's okay, she's probably just like 15 or 16, this is a phase and she'll eventually realize how stupid she's being and i guess it still could be but ): all the same

also though it's pointless to comment on, she calls bella a mary sue right after saying that stephanie meyer is a genius rather than a glorified fan fiction writer, hehh heh h

I'm hoping against hope that I get to review what is apparently the most successful work of Mormon Vampire Abstinence Porn ever produced "officially" under different circumstances, but let me offer a few thoughts in no particular order:

    * Joss Whedon is a fucking genius. I know I'm late to the party on this, but honestly I was never MASSIVELY into Buffy at any point. Just not my thing. But now having seeing what "teen-angst vampires in high school" looks like as executed by people without the first clue at what they're doing? WOW. I never knew how good I had it.
    *
    * Lead heroine's name is "Bella." Ha. Ha. Ha. Wow, I've got WHIPLASH from the sheer force of how clever that is.
    *
    * This movie IS the Love Story of our time - as in the MOVIE "Love Story." And much like that earlier film, this one will be loved FIERCELY by it's audience and make a ton of money but less than a decade from now they'll all be pretending they knew it was lame all along and NO ONE will be able to explain why it was ever such a big deal.
    *
    * Just about everything you need to know about the mental-stability of the folks working the teen-abstinence/"purity ring" movements is that they've largely embraced THIS franchise - the story of a sullen, antisocial teenaged girl who instantly subsumes her entire being into a relationship with a much older manic-depressive creep who behaves (to put it charitably) like a full-blown stalker and worries about getting too close to her because he might lose control of the urge to rip her throat out - as presenting a healthy view of romantic relationships to young girls.
    *
    * Things this movie "removes" from the vampire mythos: bats, coffins, fangs, garlic, stakes. Things it "contributes" in their place: Vampires like to play baseball, but they have to do it during thunderstorms because their super-powered bat-cracks won't be noticed; and instead of bursting into flames in sunlight, vampires' skin spontaneously sprouts a layer of Body Glitter. Sparkly, baseball-playing vampires. I never thought I'd miss Wesley Snipes so much...

This story is popular with teens because it encompasses their wildest fantasies about the hot rebel that will take them away from their boring life.

I went with a friend (his girlfriend was dragging him to it) for moral support with another friend of mine. I got about... 40 minutes in and I just couldn't take it. I stood up and walked out and played Time Crisis until the movie was over.

question: is it true that if you walk out of a movie before the halfway mark you get a full refund, or does it depend on the theater or what?  generally I avoid going to movies that I could possibly end up walking out on but I know one of these days my friends are going to drag me to some lame piece of shit and I'm gonna have to know what the deal is for getting my money back

Pretty sure it depends on the theatre. I can't see a small time theatre offering that kind of deal. Maybe like a big name string like Cineplex Odeon

God, Twilight is awful.  I'll stick with Buffy and Angel for GOOD vampire entertainment.

Depends on the theatre. I watched the entirety of Doomsday, and then later Deathrace, and both times I complained afterwards and got my money back.

I work at a movie rental store and some people have tried that. I just laughed at them.
