It's obviously FSN... and nice sprite on the main character though... and say... is he sweating? 'Cuz I saw some gray lines on his face(set)

Some new screens from a new area in my game. The ice cave.
I have yet to think what else to add to the chipset, everything looks too... blue, but I can't think of anything else to use... I can't have plants because nothing can grow with so much cold and dark, any ideas?
Btw, you slip in the ice, so the big ice area is like a puzzle.





Any ideas on what to add to the chipset ? :D
EDIT: the slight color difference between some of the ground tiles has been fixed.

I love that Icy floor. The bridges screen doesn't really look like something other than bothersome really.

@Cray: Logically, in our world, nothing can grow there, but that doesn't mean it has to stop you.  If you want to add plants though, why shouldn't you?  It's your world, you create the logic.  As long as it's not big, lush, green trees/bushes I'd believe it.  Icecap Mushrooms?  Snow lilies?  Why not?

I think a soft pink flower or fluorescent blue mushroom would look really good.  Especially if some of it came from the cracks in the walls.

I know it's much harder to model in 3D, and I absolutely respect 3D work, but the mech's walking animation looks off to me.  It just lacks that satisfying power of movement.  It doesn't seem to be walking, so much as it is gliding as if it were cross-country skiing.

I don't know, if you can take a look at some videos of the new Red Faction game.  The Mechs in that game have great animation.

Still, it's great work!

I know what a good mech animation looks like. Unfortunately I do not have motion capture at my disposal. I am going to have a go at making it better, I know one thing I can do for instance is trace the angle of the ground below the feet of the mech and make them adjust to the gradient. I will redo the mech ;)

@ Whining Gramps #1: That's beautiful graphics and animations right there. When a HUD is up or something, I bet it'll look even super cooler!



I have an issue right now. I want the pillar-like object to have a 3D look (like bottom), but I don't know how to achieve it.

Or at least I want somehow to denote that the other side of its supported platform is not supported at the front only.









Can anyone tell me how should I go by it?

Any help would be much appreciated.
