I think fallen-griever and nackstar should be relocated together to a rock in the middle of the atlantic with only enough supplies for one person and no hope for rescue so they can apply their world views on each other.

Nackster would just destroy all their supplies for no reason and Fallen-Griever would describe a straight-from-a-horror-movie way that he intended to kill him for it, but then end up just stand around frowning about it until they both were rescued by their moms (they were really just playing pretend in the swimming pool and fell into the deep end )

Moving on, can we start hearing about what the world has to say about this? Of course people should be kept posted about any changes but I thought it would be nice to hear what your local news and/or other countries feel about this.

I thought this was pretty interesting.

Ontario union calls for ban on Israeli Professors

I heard a few profs from Israeli speak and my god I never heard so much propaganda construed in one speech before. Of course not all of them are bad but I guess they wanted to start making some changes I guess?

That's kinda unfair. A ban on specifically Israeli professors seems a bit racist. I can understand for the ones that are spewing propaganda but it's unfair for the others and the Jewish community as a whole. We are not baning German professors because of the holocaust. It's like those people burning synagogues in Europe, that shit is just wrong.

So when exactly does genocide become unacceptable? Only after they are all dead? I'm only asking because I thought that someone would have stepped in by now. As the days go by the reports keep getting worse and worse and I want to know at what point the civilian losses start to matter.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israel bombarded dozens of Hamas targets Saturday hours before a government vote on an Egyptian brokered cease-fire, prompting Egypt to demand an immediate halt to a three-week-old Gaza offensive.

The proposal calls for a unilateral Israeli cease-fire in its initial stage, but Hamas has sent mixed signals on whether it would reciprocate.

Hamas' exiled leadership vowed to continue the fight against Israel. But after weeks of heavy losses, leaders inside Gaza have signaled they are ready for a deal. A Hamas delegation was in Cairo for more truce negotiations.

apparently Olmert is going to announce the unilateral ceasefire later.

All I can hope for is that Hamas decides to think rationally and accept the terms of the ceasefire so we don't have more civilian deaths.

uh dude you realize this cease fire means ISRAEL KEEPS TROOPS IN GAZA. it's kind of still the same shit. Israel kills over a thousand people, invades Gaza, gets to keep troops, promises to just stop indiscriminately killing. in return Hamas has to stop sugar rocket. it's not a matter of rationality but saying HEY WHILE YOU'RE AT IT: GET OUT TOO.

Jesus Christ. I urge everyone to PLEASE think rationally about this and do the only sane thing. Donate. I am, with no expense spared. We have to try and get everyone we know to make donations. It's easy, and will cost you nothing in the long run. When we save the lives of others, we are not really losing anything at all. You just have to click this link http://apps.facebook.com/supportisrael and donate your Facebook status to Israel.

It is frightening, but perversely enough, also very pretty. I have it as my desktop background now.

Er... I don't think you read the thread very well, but this forum is not exactly the US political status quo.

No. It doesn't really matter who was responsible for the deaths in the past, they have already happened. However, future deaths are preventable. Hamas doesn't want to accept the ceasefire because Israeli troops will remain stationed in their territory. However, by not accepting the ceasefire, it will result in more fighting, and thus, more civilian deaths. Future civilian deaths would be almost entirely Hamas' fault, past civilian deaths are not.
