The closest thing I could find about this was this quote from AP

That sounds like the same thing that I posted, it was after the Israeli ceasefire but before the Gaza one. Until the Gaza leaders declared their ceasefire, wouldn't the people firing rockets assume that they're supposed to keep doing it? They hadn't been ordered to STOP yet, what if (for some horrible reason) the Gaza leaders decided against a ceasefire from their side?

I mean I don't know if that makes the situation any better but that's what it sounds like.

The terms of this 'ceasefire' were total bullshit dude... You gotta understand. It would allow israeli troops to remain in Gaza (and do what they do best.. massacre civilians) and they would still be blocking off all of the borders to the neightbouring countries so that Palestinian refugees can't flee for much needed aid nor can aid even come through. The terms of this were totally unacceptable. Its basically the same thing except Palestinians wouldn't be able to defend themselves while getting shot at and murdered. I don't think Hamas even accepted this 'ceasefire' anyway.

Hamas accepted it for one week so Israel could pull out of Gaza.

Lets see if Israel actually does....but considering their track record with international agreements I'll take it with a bucket of salt.

People are right to point out that Hamas hadn't agreed to the ceasefire and so were under no obligation to stop firing missiles, but that wasn't my argument. My argument was that firing rockets at a stronger nation when that nation has decided to stop attacking you is a stupid decision; if a far stronger nation says it is going to stop attacking then an intelligent, sane leadership would instinctively know that it was in their best interest not to give that nation any reason to change their mind. An intelligent leadership would understand that pursuing the many diplomatic options available to them would be a better idea, especially as the diplomatic community has been clamouring for years to find a peaceful resolution. Clearly, Hamas does not have an intelligent leadership, and that was my point. Israel has absolutely nothing to lose by attacking Gaza, especially with the strong American support it has, yet Hamas has everything to lose so there is no logic in continuing to provoke Israel.

Maybe Hamas should apply some head over heart policies.
