Thats why you don't let stupid motherfuckers you don't know into your goddamn house all the time climbtree the asshole probably didn't respect you or your place next time you see him you need to stomp his fucking face in.

James was probably helping him stomp him too

edit: No but seriously thats probably what happened you let some fishy fuckers you barely knew into your place and they decided it was an easy place to rob and sell the shit.

thats fucked up and you need to keep everything locked down. I do suggest kicking his ass though if you see him in your yard because thats the best deterrent.

just cool it with the anti semetic remarks.

What anti Semitic remark?  Calling someone/something fishy is slang for saying suspicious, not Jewish.

what?  is this a joke?  no i don't fucking leave my doors unlocked when i'm home!  that's insane!  first of all, every so often someone will just TRY THE DOOR to see if it's unlocked while i am right by it.  if we left the door open we would've been robbed countless times.  also, maintenance men have keys and come in all the time for no reason.  they say it is to CHECK SHIT OUT//REPAIR but actually it is to CASE JOINT//LOOK FOR STUFF TO TAKE.  there have been like three times when the door was locked and i was in the shower that i have heard the door open and someone COME IN and stay for a while because i didn't hear the door open again like ten minutes later and when i come out there is either shit moved around as if they were looking for something or stuff is just straight up missing.  this is the type of neighborhood i live in; if it is not thieving maintenance it is people randomly trying to rob you, so i have no concept of how people just leave doors unlocked.  you would just feel VERY UNSAFE if you did this.  you don't even really feel that safe when the door is locked.

i live in a pretty small place but if i'm the only one home i lock the fucking door yeah but mostly because i might be in the shower or something. no one's gonna rob the joint when one of us is here, since the living room/couch is right next to the front door, unless it's like that thing that happened to girlbones with the armed guys and i seriously doubt that would happen in my neighborhood unless i was like a drug dealer. i always lock the door at night too.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

whoa. that sucks!

when i was younger a friend of mine lived across the street. her family used to leave the door OPEN (not just unlocked) all the time. one time i went over to call on her and had nothing to knock on. i yelled to see if anyone was home, and they WEREN'T! lol i'm sure they weren't gone long or far away, but yeah, they never had any problems doing that.

Couch was joking grunthor, I'll take my warning like a champ but yeah he was just joking around he knows I wouldn't do that.

also Climbtree if you're not willing to attempt a violent discourse of the folks that tried to rob you atleast make sure that they and anyone else they might be affiliated with ARE NOT WELCOME AT YOUR HOUSE OR THERE WILL BE REPERCUSSIONS.

because they will most definitely keep trying if they think you won't do anything to them. Best thing to do would be to call the cops/local law enforcement and tell them what happened so they can ride around the neighborhood and keep an eye out for you.

they should do that atleast. its their fucking job....

Yeah, first things first is keeping the doors locked. Man, we keep my front/back/side/garage doors locked at home all the time, and I live in well-to-do suburbia where nobody steals anything. I mean, my parents lock the door to their bedroom, too! There's no reason not to lock a(n exterior) door, in my opinion. Also, do you have a security system? If you're planning on living where you are for a long period of time, I'd suggest getting one. Even if it doesn't alert the police, it does let neighbors know something's wrong if it goes off loud and clear for a long duration (i.e. in the case of theft).

That being said, our dorm room's main door is always unlocked, even when the three of us are out. My room's the only one with a door that locks from the outside, so I don't know why this is. Probably because my roommates, as cool as they are, are too lazy to take their keys with them.

i lock my door all the time because for years my brother would just WALK RIGHT IN without knocking even if the door was closed, sometimes even if i was asleep (he'd wake me up at 2 am for important questions like 'hey do you have a sharpie i need one') and so i started locking it to keep him out, now i just do it out of habit

but i am kind of in the habit of locking all doors because i lock the main door to my house even if i know that someone else is still outside just because i do it automatically, it is a good habit most of the time but sometimes it can be a problem (i.e. locking someone out and having to come back downstairs to let them in)

the only door i don't do this too is my dorm door, because i'm more obsessed with checking to make sure it's UNLOCKED when i leave for a few minutes, i hate locking myself out and i don't want to carry keys to walk two steps to the bathroom so i just double check it to see if it's locked or not every time i leave

edit: fuck i hate when i don't realize how long a post is and then i post it only to find out i wrote three paragraphs on my door locking habits, it looks ridiculous
