nah man i said you were a college student who spends a lot of time on the computer.  can you deny this?  i didnt say school/computer activities were all you did because i think being a college student implies you have a family and a social life of some sort.  but from what you wrote your life is exactly what i expected and pretty much IM A COLLEGE STUDENT//I HAVE A COMPUTER.  going on picnics in the summer and spending time with "the fam" doesnt change that.

are you going to start posting again.  how's things

i mean, i think you are ON THE RIGHT PATH.  being a freelance music teacher sounds awesome.  you would do something really cool for a living in that a) you'd get to play music and b) you'd be helping others learn to play.  this is the best thing!  plus you'd have flexible hours and tons of time off.  the more i describe this the more it sounds like a dream job, especially if you lived in a BIG CITY and not some random gay suburb.

also yeah most social sciences seem to lead to teaching or research/teaching.  idk about that!  my geology/urban studies prof has two doctorates tho and he says he routinely gets offers from THINKTANKS so maybe you could do something like that??  he also mentioned POLICY ADVISOR but those both sound like the creme de la creme lol and probably require doctorates so on the master level it looks pr. bleak.  maybe i should just commit to a phd but who wants to be in school that long when theyre already years behind?

yeah in bigger cities a music teacher with an education degree makes big bucks. i don't even care much about the money though, really. i know that sounds cheesy as fuck but i am so ridiculously tunnel visioned on this subject. (must play music..by Any Means Necessary)

i would love to be some sort of policy advisor but yeah i'm pretty positive that requires a PhD, or a masters and a lot of experience working in that field.

i would love to go to graduate school too. i think staying in school and getting a phd would be rad.

man I'm starting to think my only option for grad school is to do one of those intense language program things that they do where they pay for you to train in a language for 2 years that involves a year of stateside study and a year of study abroad and then working for the government for 2 years but getting a masters degree for that language at the end. only problem with that is I dont really want to be a persianist that bad, though if I like tajikistan well enough when I go there spring quarter next year I might not mind embassy duty in Doshanbe lol

I don't plan on it, I don't have a lot to say these days. I just felt like someone needed to address velfarres posts but I guess I was wrong.

I read the forums a couple of times a week because of attachments and would probably post more if I felt like I had anything interesting to say but I don't so... I don't. I know that never stopped me from making 300 terrible posts a day before, though. I don't know what else to say!

Dragonx I didn't see your response until I sent the other one so... it's in the other post.

Anyway I don't want to derail this topic anymore.

Music education? nonono, music is from the soul. As John once said, "Music comes from my dick." Music educationers are just hipsters with no dick. You should play from you heart. I'm not saying you can't do that. I do this. I'm saying the way in which you and several others do this is reproachable.

Seriously man?  All you did was say "everything you say you do with your life doesn't matter because heh, it's all about college student and computers".  Hanging with "the fam"?  You don't even know how much of my life is focused around my family.  It's not sitting around a TV eating dinner in silence, my family actually SPENDS TIME together.  A LOT of time.  Not even just my parents, I mean extended family too.  You're just writing off portions of my life because you want to paint me as this shut-in who sits on the internet all day to use me as an example.  I DID deny it, but you ignored that and kept going.

But welp thanks for just doing exactly what I said you were doing by not trying to prove a point about letting people live their lives at all.  I guess I should just quit because you don't care about any of this anyway, I'm the only one who's being affected by it.  Just know that you're not making yourself this great guy by trying to play down my life while arguing that doing that is wrong.

i started work at the capitol today and i met a lobbyist-type who took me and the two other interns to a fancy fundraising thing for a republican from miami where we got fancy quesadillas. then we went to a mental health conference at the top floor of the capitol building where they had bacon-wrapped steak on a stick and lobster and a fountain of chocolate you could dip things in because my professor happens to be a representative who was giving a speech at it.

when i introduced myself and said i was working for the ex-obama campaign manager they tried to win me over to their side. the mental health people were the fucking coolest though.

my dinner..was better than yours!!

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

also velfarre what the fuck are you even talking about.  i just said your life sounded kinda boring and regular like any other fucking college student your age who is also a nerd.  whoaa i go to class, surf the net, spend time with my family, hang out with friends.  who cares none of this changes anything i said!  that is still an immensely limited life is the point and i have no idea why you would think i'm trying to paint you out to be a shut in but the only conclusion i can draw is that you are, in fact, just kinda dumb.  like really your reading comprehension skills are just surprisingly lacking, is what i mean.

goddammit seriously guys i hate this, i can't react to anything said about me because i apparently REACT TOO MUCH but i can't help the fact that things like this bother me, especially since i've had a lot of emotional things going on in my life anyway

headphonics i am not saying my life is the best but you just keep on posting about how boring it is as if you know all about having the best life and then at the same time saying i should be more accepting of other people's lives

i'm saying it's boring because it is!  my life is boring too.  my point is unless you are living some ridiculously fabulous life, your life is probably not that much more rich and varied than hers is, so saying her life is no life at all is not really very logical.  this is the only point that i am making here.  i don't care about your life at all, but even you should be able to recognize that if you are a student and spend most of your free time either surfing the net or with your family, you are not really experiencing all that life has to offer.  really velfarre this is not THAT DIFFICULT.  unless it is in which case........welp velfarre maybe.......maybe you understand what its like to be mentally challenged a lil more than you previously thought
