Mostly because Finland has really shitty metal bands and most people here have really shitty taste in metal.

this topic is slightly annoying btw. first off what are you motherfuckers doing coming in here THERE'S NOG OOD METAL. like I dropped an explanation or two but really I would think at this point GW would not be entirely dismissive of an entire genre because of Iron Maiden or whoever shat in your hat.

another flaw though is the OP which does that thing every metal fan seems to and rants about linkin park and no one cares. the fact he listed a lot of kind of garbagey samey metal bands is annoying too.

but the worst part has to be how people are making big fucking lists! stop making lists. it's okay to name drop one or two bands but holy shit fuck lists.

A lot of people are starting to dig traditional doom metal bands because it brings back that Sabbath feel I guess.

DS, yeah Reverend Bizarre sounds like every other metal band in Finland. Good job! And if anyone actually takes the time to look at those bands, those are all bands don't sound samey or are completely cheese like all of you are complaining. I was just adding to Afura's naming of Alcest. But hey, no lists alright fine. It's one thing to dislike metal, and another thing to completely generalize and say it all sounds the same and it's all completely cheese.

i haven't even heard reverend bizarre i was just answering to him that if he wonders why it did good in finland it's because we seriously have really awful metal scene (some good bands too but sweden for example has so much more better metal) and finns like awful metal in general. don't reach your own conclusions.

i wasn't dissing your list either i just found it random and i wasn't so sure what you were listing. favorite bands? and there was some good shit there for sure, i love neurosis and devin townsend and edge of sanity are pretty good too. i haven't heard most of the artists in your list.

and i LIKE metal if you haven't figured that out yet, if you read my posts i have been defending the genre.
