like you say that sarcastically but he probably was one of the best SUPERHERO VILLAINS in a movie.

The dark knight and wall-e were probably the last two for me. idk if wall-e counts as a blockbuster though

I was only being sarcastic cos Steel didn't mention the dark knight which I'm pretty sure he liked so I was underplaying the success of it. The Joker was good, yeah. I don't like comic books or comic book movies but I remember getting pretty riled up during the movie.

He's definitely the best thing in a superhero movie I've seen but he's contending with caked urine equivalents.

District 9 actually looked really interesting

Like, the idea of an alien species showing up as refugees in africa and we being the glorious people we are just pretty much shit on them (SUCH A BURDEN) like we do everyone/thing else.

Its pretty depressing but thats what I would expect to happen

I really didn't like The Dark Knight all that much. Its far too long, the dialogue is fairly wooden, and Christian Bale's "batman voice" is just too much for me to tolerate without doing an over the top imitation to the person sitting next to me. On the topic of JJ Abrams, I liked Forever Young and Regarding Henry, and he wrote those. I liked Lost until last year and the whole time travel thing.

best comic to movie adaptation is the crow imo edit: maybe 300 but idk I cant remember them all this late

Yeah, this is pretty much right.

I watched the trailer for this movie and at the end, it felt as if someone had urinated into my mouth.  It looks like a generic action film with a the Star Trek IP taped (poorly) on top.

ugh i read this post while drunk and then vomited because this is a really gross metaphor

thanks

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

i saw this yesterday and it wasn't great but it was enjoyable. it had some really dumb and predictable parts though. at least it was better than x-men 2 and 3 which both sucked a lot.

new terminator is looking pretty sweet tho hope its good

no one, not even the people who said that, believed it would hurt the movie. the issue was a blogger was dumb enough to admit piracy of a movie while working for like FOX or something, not that it would hurt sales.

I saw The Dark Knight again the other day, for the second time ever (first time at theatres) and yeah I really like that movie. It was just very well put together, with an interesting crime drama storyline and some likeable and interesting characters. When I was a kid, SPIDERMAN was my favourite superhero and comic, but looking back, i really wish I had given Batman more though. He's kind of cool really. He's not superhuman in any way, his ability comes from his wealth and his intelligence and ingenuity, and his FORTE is crime solving, not just beating up radioactive supervillains. He's a detective as much as he is a superhero, and that's sort of where Nolan's Batman franchise stands out because Batman is allowed to play the part of detective. Maybe that's why Dark Knight is kind of cool? Like if you took out the whole Batman thing and just made him a cop or something, and toned down the Joker a little bit, it still might've actually been interesting.

Whatever, I'm just preaching to the choir since everyone enjoyed the movie.

on the batman thing I kind of rolled my eyes at how everyone was like FINALLY A MATURE BATMAN, as if this has ever been like a thing.

FINALLY...BATMAN FOR ADULTS *ignores the fact that batman is for manchildren even in the darkest comic*

what's kind of neat about Dark Knight is not only was that stupid thought process mostly gone, but it was actually a good movie in a lot of ways. like...I almost DONT WANT TO SAY THIS but it could have potentially been a non-comic book movie and been good. like if you made it instead of joker vs man in bat suit FILMNOIR people or just really anyone you would have a good movie anyways where it mattered. like oh no no gimmicky batman flying around shit but you'd still have a pretty decent film. there were clever scenes, a real plot, some ACTUAL EMOTION, and reiterating A REAL PLOT.

whereas you take ironman out of ironman you've just got a kind of dumb action movie at best.

I think that's why Dark Knight gets legit praise from people; it's NOT a "serious comic book", it's actually a pretty decent movie on its own. also not DESPITE being a comic book for the most part as it would significantly change the movie to remove it even though it could be removed.

basically while the level of nerd love for the movie is expectedly nauseating I was surprised by how not like the rest it was. I'm not sure how much longer you could stretch something like "really competent movie about this one character" over a continuous series or anything but that's my Dark Knight opinion! legitimately good movie not in spite of being a comic book or because of it but just because.

no one may have directly said that the workprint would hurt the movie, but the whole premise of piracy affecting the box office was definitely not an issue
