My god theres so many moves, fighting games got nothing on this. I really would've appreciated it if you were given the option to pick and choose your powers instead of having them all available to you at a specific push of a button.

Certainly one of the better free roam abuse powers games out there.

But seriously there so many powers I keep myself from obtaining powers right away so I can have some fun with the new power. Running people up walls right from out of the crowd never gets old.

I have no problems with the graphics though, like I don't see it. This inferior look your talking about. I find the graphics to be just right, I mean those really graphic heavy games hurt my eyes or I find just too distracting.

A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

If you go to the top of a tall skyscraper and look around really quickly, you'll notice the large amount of pop up. The view distance is great (you can actually see the buildings on the south side from the far north) but there's a maximum object limit by the looks. I'd take this sort of pop-up over the horrendous lag of gta4pc anyday.

Totally agree on the powers too. You get too many too quickly and I've probably only used maybe 20% of my moves, simply because I just forget I even have most of them (there isn't that many though, they're just all very similar)

Oh and by the way, has anyone completed the mission "Shock and Awe"? I am having a fucking TON of trouble just trying to get started in the mission.

Well I just beat this game and I thought it was way too easy.

There were too few bosses and there was only 1 I thought was hard (the Elizabeth Greene one). The final boss was pretty much a joke. I just ran around absorbing military guys as they killed the boss for me for the most part.

The "movement abilities" were pretty sweet, but the graphics were kind of sad. When a building explodes, the walls would just sort of fall off and fall through the level.

Another problem that I had was that you couldn't really just go in and beat the crap out of everything. Most missions involved tanks and if you want to have a decent amount of health after getting the tank, you should probably disguise yourself. Also, the strike team / helicopters in general had overpowered missiles. The missiles would basically follow you around every turn. I would run in every direction and they would still hit me.

I think most missions would have been easier if I had just used tanks, but that's not how I wanted to do it. I wanted to rush in there and blow some stuff up with my claws / sword.

Overall it was fun.

@Dr. Ears, that mission was kind of hard, I guess I got lucky though. I basically ran in there, killed 2 - 3 of the machines, and ran away. I waited for some super military guys to come, killed them and healed myself. Then I repeated. It took 4 tries but I got it eventually. I hated every mission involving bloodtox machines. They were all stupid.

Yeah I forgot to reply yesterday after I beat that mission, I finished the game too.

The reason I wasn't beating that mission was because I thought the objective was to destroy the bloodtox machines, not those other ones. After I clicked it was fucking easy.

Also yeah I agree the game was easy, with the only difficult (not even that, just ridiculously long) boss was Elizabeth Greene. I'm replaying it on New Game+ at the moment to collect everything and then I'll play through it on hard mode probably. I REALLY enjoyed Prototype's storyline, and the final cinematic is just AMAZINGLY cool and shows a really good character development I hoped would be shown:

christ how bout some spoilers

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

I don't know about the difficulty. I spent one hour on a mission last night that had, all at the same time, 3-4 hunters, 1-2 tanks, a strike team, and guys on rooftops with rocket launchers all attacking me constantly. On top of that, the whole battle was taking place in a sea of infected people.

I was getting pretty fed up after I noticed that I had been in the same general area doing the same mission for an hour. Prior to that, the game was easy as hell but then... That shit happened out of nowhere. Huge sudden spike in difficulty.

This game pretty much rocks. It looks good on the PC at least. It's no Fallout 3 or Far Cry 2 of course. The controls are pretty much fucking awful on PC, but hey. There's all these damned button combos. And Alex seems to pretty much do what he wants to most of the time. This game is probably so much better on the 360 with a controller.

It's like extreme GTA. You can charge at people, pick 'em up, chuck them at helicopters, and do all kinds of chaotic shit. It gets old and mindless after awhile, but then you just go to missions.

Fo3 is set in a barren wasteland with mostly nothing beyond mud and rocks in the environment, and FC2 is set in a jungle, so neither are exactly fair comparisons. You can't climb buildings anywhere near to the scale of Prototype in either game, so neither has had to use measures sacrificing graphics for frame rate and gameplay. You can climb to the top of the highest skyscrapers in Prototype and suffer zero drop in frame rate and no noticeable decrease in graphical quality, except for the pop-up props on rooftops. Would you rather have hi-res graphics ala Crysis and be completely unable to run the game on anything less than NASA supercomputers?

Not really. There's a few niggly horrible things with movement where a lot of the mid-air moves are bound to the same keys stupidly, but there's only like 7 or 8 moves MAX you can do at any one time and they are just bash LMB/RMB or hold LMB/RMB/E so it's not hard to pull off the moves you want to all the time. Not that it really matters because except for devastators the only good move is just LMB repeatedly.

Difficulty had a flow but all in all i'm enjoying this about as much as I enjoyed that one Spiderman game where you sling web and travel anywhere in the city at any time.

I still don't see the bad graphics, okay pop-ups sure, but I always found that this kind of graphics were enough. Since it's so PS2 then I geuss PS2 graphics are enough.

Yeah I just finished the game. Kinda disappointed with how abrupt pretty much every single cutscene in the game is (especially the ending), it's like the game is a kid with ADD. Every time there's an interesting story thread opened they just instantly sever it and start a new one. I really wanted to get into the story (because it is pretty damn good) but most characters just have 2 lines of dialogue and Mercer just goes with the flow all the time.

Also regarding Miss Green:

This is how I beat her:

I beat the game for a second time in New Game+ mode on the weekend, my second playthrough taking me six hours (I'm assuming this is because I have all my upgrades which makes it a hell of a lot easier to speed through it). I agree with Sarevok though, what with the abrupt cutscene endings but oh well, what Alex says in the final cinematic really amazed me. The storyline is excellent compared to some of the 'next gen' games these days.

Looking forward to the second game, I believe

I've been playing this for the last 3 hours.  Apparently there is a plot or something but I've just ignored it and I just keep trying to beat personal records with how many civillians I can take out between reports.
