Its cuz they didn't get into med school and realized that an undergrad degree in Biology is pretty worthless.

lol

well enetering to grad school is pretty damn hard anyway. maybe just a little less than medschool. medschool sint terribly hard you just need like a 3.5 and thats easy if you just get a bs in psychology lol

To be honest, I'm kinda bullshitting but its been my personal experience that women in my math n science courses were almost always studying to get into med, pharm, or nursing programs.

But I took all my general bio/chem/calc series at a community college and I'd say over 80 percent of people taking science there are shootin for med/nursing

I am not talking only about undergrad but people in grad school. People who study biology in grad school don't aim for medicine. Also fuck premeds theyre the scum of the natural sciences

yeah fuck their degrees, those worthless fucking scumbags are the worst.

did you REALLY need a topic on why there aren't many women in math/engineering man.

me too. not that many go to math/engineering/physics grad school because there aren't many promising futures there as opposed to medicine/pharm

You're soo right, money and power don't matter to me in a man. As long as he's got a large hardon collider I'm all set

Most of chemistry is actually geared toward preventing this from happening.
Well it was just an example. I mean, a few people may actually enjoy sitting and calculating theoretical shit for themselves, but hey, it's way more fun to be outside on the frontline, doing the actual stuff. Like astronauts for example.. would you really enjoy counting stars more than actually float around in space?

pretty sure university level chemistry is TITRATE X MOLES OF CLEAR LIQUID A TO Y MOLES OF CLEAR LIQUID B (30 seconds). EXPLAIN EVERY INTERACTION FULLY (2 months)
like the chemistry is just as theoretical as physics.

Yeah, but what kind of jobs do you get after the school? I'm slightly tipsy right now so I might be babbling about, but there seem to be more practical jobs after chemistry than physics.. does anybody know what classes you need to have attended to become an astronaut btw? Gotta be more than astrology, eh?

pretty much exactly what he described

the majority of chemists have some of the most boring jobs ever, biggest benefit is that they usually get paid a lot and they can slack off a ton as long as they finish whatever it is they need to be doing.

Marie-Pier Côté, a 12-year old Canadian, published a novel called Laura l'immortelle. On March 13, 2007 the French-language newspaper La Presse published an article noting a list of similarities between Laura l'immortelle and Highlander.[20] Côté later admitted that the story was a plagiarized Highlander fan fiction originally written by a Frenchman.

i dunno... this is still talking about... objects. when it comes to relativity or cosmology, it becomes pretty abstract.

Yeah, but what kind of jobs do you get after the school?

better jobs than physics majors...

esiann, what are you taking??

So Marmot. I'm studying Computer Science and Administration. And all I can say is that there are little to no girls in engineering, and the few ones that are in this division are like men under disguise. I think it's more a social thing. I remember my ex, she was exceedingly good at math and physics, but she ended up in social sciences and humanity.

At least here, I think it's this whole "girls shouldn't study men stuff, unless they're ugly."
"I think EVERYONE here on GW has to have cranked one out over Pulits or Trujin before. How's it feel, guys?" - Christophomicus <--Feels great, btw.

to be a good woman is to be emotional and nurturing rather than cold and rational so in order for women to do mathematics they have to degrade their status as a woman. arguably ugly girls have less to lose as such.
