I've been playing the shit out of FFXIII (fucking like 27 hours....), and there's a few terrible things about the game, and definitely a few groanworthy moments, but I actually dig it and find it really fun as long as you think of it like playing a book, because there's a lot of story and a lot of reading. I actually read everything that comes into the datalog and most of it is boring or literally a description of what happened over the past 5 minutes, but it actually brings up stuff during the recaps that aren't really brought up in the game itself.

I guess overall my favorite thing about this game, and all final fantasy games really, is that they take their time to develop a world and a history. I loved that facet of 12, because it really felt like this was some world that had been developing and it all kind of meshed together. Except for the fact that they chose some really stupid names for important concept (the whole fal'Cie and l'Cie and Cie'th shit is ridiculous and unnecessary) they actually fashioned a pretty cool and interesting world, and so far the story is intriguing and kind of dramatic even if it's a little hokey.

I also play all my games super high, so that might be why I can like the game. Which is ok with me.

I want to have a finished playthrough that I can import into Dragon Age 2, and I no longer have my older saves so I'm playing a lot of Dragon Age: Origins.

I just played through Fallout 2 and experienced just about every bug the game is infamous for (dissapearing and randomly reappearing party members, and not having a Pip Boy the entire game being my favorites.) I really liked it though and laughed at my ending that basically told me how I didn't do a good enough job for 2 minutes.

still playing oblivion. bordering on almost liking the game, but there's not really much in the game that is really INVOLVING or even particularly fun to do. the dark brotherhood questline is kinda cool and at least gave me a couple HEY, NEAT moments. the shivering isles was almost extremely good but they miss the mark so often and so dramatically that it just kinda sits there. that expansion could have seriously blew everyone's head off, but they didn't do much of anything with it. i was really hoping/expecting them to take some hyper-absurdist alice in wonderland route with it all, which they kinda did, but didn't seem particularly committed to in any serious way. specifically, you could tell the writers were really ill-equipped to handle writing something of that nature, or had some profoundly difficult time writing that way while still giving the game that horrible oblivion feel. occasionally they get it right, but there's so much garbage in the shivering isles, although i guess that could really be said about the remainder of the game.

i could go on, but i don't really care. they were obviously at least peripherally aware of oblivion's faults, considering fallout 3 corrected nearly every glaring issue someone could raise with oblivion. i guess it's a miracle that i'm even enjoying this game enough to continue playing it.

I'm looking for a SRPG to play and I heard Valkria Chronicles was really easy so I'm thinking of some ps2 games like Disgaea or Stella Dues. Or maybe Valkrie Profile but that's more of an RPG I think.

Valkria Chronicles is sort of easy if you know what your doing but vary enjoyable game.  Valkria Chronicles 2 is a bit harder but the hardest mission are DLC also on a good note the game is not over after you beat it there is extra things to be done and lot of extra content.

I recommend for a PS2 jrpg maki kingdom

Yo so i played the Dragon Age II demo and this game seems like a piece of shit. The texture are laughably low resolution, a lot of the models leave quite a bit to be desired, and all the cutscenes are shoddy as fuck. The fighting also isn't really all that fun,  a few skills (like the MAIN ATTACK BUTTON) don't really feel like they have correct feedback, ie. pushing attack will either attack once or a few times, sometimes he'll even stab, make a movement, and then stab again. It's just very off- putting  to push X 3 times and your guy will stab, make a momement, stab, duck, and stab again.

Anyways I kinda want to buy it though because I don't know any other games with gameplay like that!! I want a push-button action-RPG with REAL skills to buy and upgrade, and this looks like the best option. There is a copy of Sacred 2 that is getting progessively cheaper at the nearest gamestop (it's down to 17.99 now), and while it also looks kind of shitty (i'm not expecting greatness from Sacred 2) I did enjoy Sacred 1 (on the PC) and I think it'll give me the "WoW MMO" feel. It feels shitty to want to basically play solo WoW on my PS3, but I enjoy the action rpg genre so long as you actually get to upgrade stats and skills, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (which is more brawler but still action-rpg for sure). Anyways if you have a recommendation for PS3 action rpgs that are not shooters I am all ears.

Anyways I really want to talk about inFamous. I got this over the weekend and I like this game. I have played Prototype and I enjoy the style of this game better. Prototype is like you are a comic-book superhero, whereas infamous you are like, Heroes superhero. Nothing is fantastic and it's presented with "gritty realism".

So I just gotta say they fuckin nail the atmosphere in this game, at least for me. I spent yesterday getting just ridiculously high (I was actually just trying to use some up because I had nowhere to put it and it would dry out) and playing the shit out of it. I fucking love the sounds in this game. There's basically no music, at least none I can recall, but instead there's just lots of ambient noise, and then this weird avant garde noise shit, with like guitar squelching and feedback and stuff. It's really really eerie (like seriously, it would kinda scare me if I was alone at night eerie) and I just feel like it matches with the atmosphere they are going for really well. I don't know why this stuck out to me so much but I guess I was just really into the game, and I noticed that these "music" parts (which come about randomly, most of the time youre running around to normal ambient noises and people yelling or something) were really tripping me out, and it really made me FEEL something. I like it.
